Good News: The Island on Blu-Ray.
Bad News (for those of us in the US): Europe only so far 
Coming soon in Germany as well: 
UK release on Blu-Ray and HD-DVD scheduled for July 30, but may be pushed back again. |

I've just ordered my Blu-Ray ISLAND. Didn't know we were getting it before the US!! Maybe it did better overseas than domestically.

i thought the ps3 was region free...meaning i can buy a european dvd if i want and still play it on my ps3 here in the states.

A lot of people think that, but it's not. But luckily there's only 3 regions out there. And this just happens to be on a region 1 disc (or it's region free, I can't remember which) so you can get it on Blu-Ray and have it work here in the states.
