I think that in the other movie it'll be all GM too. Not only won't they want to share screen time with another nameplate, essentially sharing the marketing of their product. Plus, Bay's got a certain level of loyalty it seems, they helped him out at the start of this whole thing and I don't think he's gonna turn and open it up to other companies. Besides, has there ever been a more American director? Of course it's gonna be all GMs.

Not all vehicles were GM. Barricade is a Ford Mustang Saleen S281 patrol car in the movie. Which suits me well because I don't like Ford and Fords would make perfect Decepticons.

The GM family is large and I'm sure that there is a car or truck similar enough to whatever Transformer he might wanna use out there or in the design stages. Besides, GM's not gonna want to share the spotlight with any other company after getting the whole ball rolling and quite possibly their best marketing push ever.
What I would love is more Cybertron in the next one.
I soooo dont like the idea of only GM...seems a lil limitating...for a sequal i would want Bay to open it up MUCH more...hopefully he went with GM to save money and with a bigger budget can afford to pick a choose more variety...the idea of evry single bot or con that touches down on earth just happening to run into a GM vehicle that he likes kinda irks me...diff bots should hav diff personalities and some should prefer not only american muscle cars IMO

From a storyline point of view it would actually be pretty fucking ridiculous for new decepticons coming to earth to land in the States, the only country on the planet whcih already knows a) how to tell if TFs have been present, b) know how to beat them with the cryotech and c) already has a few bots to help in the defense.
If they had any good circuit boards in them they would definately NOT land in America...they would go somewhere else and formulate a plan....hence different vehicles would be required.

cad,
The Saleen in the movie is not a Ford. It is a Saleen Mustang. Ford had nothing to do with the movie. Nothing at all. This is why he could use the Saleen in the movie. I'm not trying to bust your balls. But the way it is set up by the goverment as standards for manufacturing Saleen by right can be called a small time builder of cars. Therefore the cars ceases to be a Ford product and now is in fact a Saleen. I have mentioned it here before and if I had time would go and dig it up here. But just trust me on this one. It was alot esier to get Saleen to jump into this movie than the two largest Detroit automakers. Lets just leave it at that..
And Sharpie GM is global so its not hard to do a world wide GM product. They also own SAAB..also Holden, Opel, Vaxhaull and so on. So it would not be a stretch to go global for GM.
So...if Saleen jumps back in..who I think will..hows this...
enzo?? we dont need no stinking enzo

What sets them apart from many aftermarket companies is that they undergo the same regulations/testing as major automakers, giving them OEM (original equipment manufacturer) status. Their bread and butter is altering/modifying Mustangs. Once this occurs, and since Saleen is an OEM mfg., they have the ability to call it their own vehicle. (hope this makes sense) So in essence, they don't make cars in the sense that Ford or GM does (with the exception of the S7 above, Ford GT, and various prototypes), but the parts that they do make (engine modifications, body parts, wheels), in conjunction with a heavy overall modification, allows them to rename a Ford Mustang into a Saleen S281 (Barricade)
Hope that somewhat answered your question without getting too technical?
Saleen has also developed a reputation for building cars for movie productions.
Sorry for veering off topic.
TF2: More variety, not a bad thing. we'll see when it happens. But remember, GM is not a brand in and of itself, it's the sub-brands that are different. (If all the TF's were all Chevy's, for example, then it would've been WTF) So cut the production some slack, at least they varied the sub brands. (IMO)

This guys good..couldnt of said it better myself r-type.
And yes GM is not just a brand of one car. Its 7 brands just here in the U.S. where they have others worldwide. With a range of cars that Bay could tap that could fit almost every TF you could think of. And who is to say it had to be just new cars? Why not some older ones??? Or even Oldsmobile?? The idea of using GM is endless if Bay went with Just GM and Saleen. Who by the way has 3 vehicles he can use for the film..
I always thought if the Dinobots could be used they might be muscle cars. hence the idea of a muscle car thats old and big engine and tough straight to the point no nonsese cars. and just brutes that suck down fossil fules. kinda the dino connection there.

Hey, you guys know that company Callaway? They are to Corvette what Saleen is to Mustang. They would be a great addition to the next movie.

Sector 7 had GM cars... that should be enough. (and Ironhide, I know...)
I'd just love to see a plane (a Boeing, maybe) or a bicycle...
