wow...what a rush!!!
was such great entertainment from start to finish. I got goosebumps as Blackout arrived at the base, the anticipation was palpatable.
Mentioning Blackout....wow how fucking awesome was he. Ditto Ironhide (Mr.Bay if you are reading....we really REALLY gotta see more of him in the sequals (note optimistic plural) !!!)
The effects were flawless, couldnt tell when CGI finished and some bloke driving a very nice car began.
I quite enjoyed Frenzy...his scene on Airforce One was great.
Starscream...again need more of him. His flip and transform into the Raptor on the big screen was eye candy of the very highest order.
Only negative for me..."Devastator" (omg why did you make that mistake!!!) looked a little, i dunno, flimsy in tank mode. Bounced around a bit much. Maybe thats really how it is, but it just jumped out at me for some reason. But lets face it, that is nitpicking.
When we came out the cinema I waffled on to my wife for about 10mins near constantly about how good it was. I then thought it might be nice for me to ask her what she thought of it, and she said...
"Actually, it was pretty fucking awesome"
Thats a direct, word for word quote. And she never watches action movies.
Pretty fucking awesome...couldnt have put it better myself.

WOW!!
What can I say? This film is magical.
Saw it at 8pm tonight, I was in awe. For me this is one of the best films of its type, just a rollercoaster from start to finish. I always knew the special effects would be good but nothing prepares you for seeing them on the big screen my jaw hit the floor everytime a Transformer was onscreen. It truly is grounbreaking in the same way Juraasic Park was, as you sit there you know you're witnessing something awe-inspiring, and original. And it'll probably be another decade or so before anything gets that feeling from me again.
But it's not all about fancy computer effects, this film has a heart too. Shia is absolutely fantastic I can't praise the guy enough the guy is so believable, he reminds me of Michael J Fox. Also Megan Fox suprised me with her acting ability too.
Now the one thing I was worried about was Frenzy. And I gotta say I think he was absolutely brilliant, a character who sounded totally goofy in descriptions, for me was totally brilliant onscreen. He was funny, vicious, and very resilient, he gets a thumbs up from me.
Ofcourse Prime was just perfect, as was Megatron, I was suprised at Megatrons voice I was expecting something slightly more regal sounding, however it worked well, and I'm more than happy with Weaving.
Ironically (after all the complaining) the Transformer who showed the most characterisation was Bumblebee who in just a few hand gestures and movements could convey a thousand words. The bit where he recovers from being frozen in the sector seven base with him pointing his gun and and checking his surroundings like a wounded animal was gold.
Then just as I thought things couldn't get any better, Bay goes and delivers the final battle. I'd heard reports online it was hard to follow, but honestly I never had any trouble at all. It was hectic, it was brutal, and like nothing I've seen before.
All in all, just a great action movie, possibly the best I've ever seen. Does the film have a few flaws? Sure but on the whole it's just awesome no other word to describe it.
9.5

I also went last night to see it (with fu2kimus_prime actually) but the WOW factor just wasn't there for me. I felt let down for the first 45 minutes to an hour as I thought I was watching that god awful "Herby Fully Loaded" with Lindsay Lohan again.
I felt the film could have progressed a more quicker and didn't need to use so much humour. If I wanted to see a comedy I would have waited for The Simpsons Movie to come out. Some of the jokes were funny though, especially the Armaggedon remark and the Witwicky parents being shocked at the hotty in Sam's room.
I wasn't too upset though as the CGI and the action was the best if it's kind, and the final half of the film (I.E. When Optimus, etc showed up) was worth the wait.
I don't think I'm being too unkind with my critisism and I did enjoy it (so much I'm hoping to watch it again next Monday on a bigger screen in a multiplex, instead of a local smallish cinema with a tiny screen). I think that might have put me in a poor mood for the film also.
As for the characters I thought Optimus, Jazz and Ratchet were great. More critisism but I just don't like the design for Megatron or Starscream. Characters like Bonecrusher and Devastator were very underused, although Frenzy lived up to his name.
The acting never bothers me much, unless it's really ropey but I was quite impressed with Shia and he suited the role.
My rating might change after watching it again, but for now it's just 8/10.

Movie hit Lima, Peru on Thursday 19, I went to the pre-screening on wednesday and I can say the movie was AWESOME!!!, it completely rocks, it was like a huge rollercoaster, I left the theather with goosebumps and so exited that i couldn't drive mi car very well.
Seriously this movie is the best movie I've every seen, i has everithing:
-Comedy was excellent every laugh lines were really great
-Dramatic times like BB being knocked down by S7 and Sam trying to stop them.
-The arrival and introduction of the autobots were fantastic.
- Blackout attack, frenzy, starscream, megatron, all of the robots were just mindblowing like spielberg said.
I've seen it 2 more times, the second with my sister, who by the way ask me every day why I see the TF forum, that I'm, loosing my time..... so on thursday 19 official opening here in Peru i took her to the cinema, and guess what?, she LOVE transformers, she got goosebumps in the whole movie and she liket a lot, she's going to see it today with her friends.
To finish, I saw it for the third time with my girfriend, she doesn't like the movie, but i took it to showe her why I saw any information I could of TF, she like it alot, even though she fell asleep a few times she love the movie.
the 3 time I saw the movie (wednesday, thursday and Saturday) the theather were full, Im planing to see it again today.
Great movie and I hopo to hear news about the TF2 right now so we can star to follow it in the forums like we did it with this movie since july 2005.

came back from my fourth view and theather still packed!!!!!! this movie is a total hit in Peru, for you to know opening in Latin America began july 19 in countries like Peru, Venezuela, Argentinal, still to open in COlombia, Ecuador, Chile, Brazil, Bolivia so we have plenty of $$$$$$ coming from this part of the world. The best part ir that larger markets like Japan and UK still to go between this and next week.
Im hoping this movie make more money to reach #1 movie of the 2007, it deserves for sure!
Go TF.
Its a crazy idea but, i think maybe Paramaunt could reopen TF especial edition sometime next year befor TF2, we all know there are several cut scenes that would be nice too see in the big screen in a especial screening.

Finally watched this film myself. I have to admit, even though I didn't get goosebumps throughout the film and with lots of stuff that I didn't like I'm still impressed with a movie.
Movie starts really good and the thing how it goes on slowly is a big plus in my book but somehow they just rushed in the end, well, it seems to me anyway. The arrival of the Autobots is one of my favorite scenes and almost perfect if there wasn't for ''that'' future love couple who were trying to hold hands while watching the sky. The movie showed a lot of Transformers except Decepticons who were really let out of this movie. Starscream, come on!!! I'm sure that all of his fans are hoping to see him in much larger role in the sequel then few shots like in this movie. Action was... not so great in my eyes. Most of the time it was crappy and I had no idea what the hell was going on, the cam would shake and I couldn't see who was winning damn it. And the real action could be longer, it starts only in 20 minutes before the ending of the whole 2hours and 12-13 minutes movie ( without credits). Prime was a badass and I liked Megatron's voice, it matched perfectly.
Since they cut the damn credits, could any of you tell me what happens after credits roll? Post here or send pm maybe? Thanks in advance.

1 & 2 - involving an interview with Sam's parents about gov't invovlment and UFO's
3 - What appears to be Starscream breaking the Earth's atmosphere
The time that it took me to type this, is longer than the 3 scenes combined. So, in essence, nice little additions, but nothing to feel bad about missing, you'll catch them on the DVD.

Haven't been to the boards for a while seens as I have moved house, and no net.
I went to see the movie last night on the UK's opening date, and all I can say is it was absoluteley fantastic. Well done Bay. It was everything I wanted and more from it. I got goosebumps and the rest of those feelings the entire way through the flick. I wanted to scream like a little girl in the cinema and shout 'OMG THATS *insert name/subject here*' but I restrained myself and kept my adult composure (mainly because the girlfriend was sitting right next to me).
Aside from wanting to hear the Con's speak a bit more, mainly Megatron, and Jazz's demise which I nearly cried at, everything was perfect. Easily the best movie I have ever seen, it takes my #1 spot, and im sure it will stay there for an extremely long time.
TF 2 come!!!
