An Interview with Welker, and One Last Plea to Michael

TFW: Have you been approached at all for any further work with the franchise, either with the movie (Soundwave?) or another incarnation, such as Transformers: Animated?

Welker: Well it is a little too early to be specific but I will say yes and no. No, I have not been approached by the movie folks but yes I am still involved in the franchise...more on that later.

Michael, I can understand your choice in terms of Megatron, and I know you're probably ready to murder the next guy who brings up the topic of original voice actors...but please, please allow Frank a shot at Soundwave's voice. I'm risking getting banned by Nelson (again) just to ask. His participation in the franchise really does mean that much to a load of fans out there.

I swear this is the last time I will ever bring this subject up until the movie's release.

I get this feeling that Soundwave's lines have already been recorded. So I guess the voice actor could be anybody at this point, but who knows, Bay might surprise us.

Soundwave's voice will probably be super digitized in the movie, so you probably won't even be able to recognize him even if he DID do the voice....As far as him still being involved, he'll probably be voicing Megatron in the videogame again.

Personally, I can live with any kind of alteration, as long as I know it's Frank at the heart of the character.

I should probably add I'll never stop being grateful to Michael for hiring Cullen. He went against the grain, and I seriously appreciate that.

Yes, Yes, what if this and what if that. We could go on forever picking a voice for bumblebee, a new design for prime, Megatrons face or whatever!! There no point assuming or pleaing to MB about what YOU think HIS movie should be. Yes you are an avid fan and yes your opinion counts, But we can go on forever about what WE would want, and in that case, the movie prob would NEVER get finished because it couldnt please everyone to THEIR preference. But when the day is done and over, its still MB choice..weather we agreed or not!

That way we can all enjoy this EPIC sequel that MB has made for us!!

Wow...

The plea to MB should be keep doing what you're doing. We loved the first film (or why else would we be here?) and I'm sure we'll love this one.

And on a personal note, thank you for representing the military as well as you do in all of your films.

Great quote---I've said it before and I will say it many more times--PURE GENIUS!!

I like the way you post Mr. Bay---giving us 3 ways to interpret that quote

A)Frank has already recorded for 'Soundwave' and your are saying--"okay let me see what Welker is doing" knowing the whole time he will be in it.
