He was contacted by Soundwave and told to pull back,Soundwave was in orbit and knew Megatron had not backup plan if he failed...just my thought as Barricade was on Earth already in a position of power, could act swiftly to infiltrate the humans if Megatron lost.. Perhaps he went to activate Alice? Organic Decpticon Pretender

At last the thread is back open so I can tell you.

The writers (in an interview) said that Optimus kills him off.
Well Bay (et al) grew to really like a counter character to the Bee
and no one wanted to see him killed off. The idea goes back many, many years. Chevy vs Ford, etc. Originally Ford said NO cause they didnt wanna be the badguy so they asked Saleen. Steve Saleen said HELZ YEAH!! So the mold was cast.
They all loved him. This in turn led to a decision not to
kill him off. It wasnt that they edited it out....-THEY NEVER EVEN SHOT THE SCENE!
This is documented in the script and trade novels/paperbacks.

Soooo Barricade would be around to harass The Bee on
future episodes.

Well.....Low and behold - along comes #2 and they got different writers who were not told of Barricade's sparing so they take off where we left off and according to the script -he is toast.

Soooooooo that is why he just disappears.

I think this snafu can be used to a great advantage in the next movie
should they chose to do so.

and there you have it!!

This doesn't make sense to me. The original writers from TF1 returned for ROTF. They just added Kruger as well. And hell, Bay was still around. So Barricade could have easily been written in. Two of the three writers should have been aware of the reason (according to your bit of news.)

This is my take on this ok?
Bay is not a writer director like JJ Abrahams. He is a Director.
A brilliant one but he does not dabble in screen writing.
Director Dave Moldavon filmed an 87 min interview with Orci & Kurtzman. They are screenwriters. They adapt stories to the screen. Ehren Kruger came on board with ROTF and influenced the team along with the issue of having 11....yes that is ELEVEN producers for the 2nd movie. The Producers have influence due to the pursestrings and yuo saw the heavay GM influence because of that.

This led to the updated screenwriting team carrying on with the storyline while being told to use a predominant GM influence.

Anyways.....they were brought down another path. Bay just flowed with it. If he had THAT MUCH influence we wouldnt have seen the jive talking gold tooth wonders in there...or the Terminator girl.

Anyways.....back to roots with them. I think #3 has no where to go but up. I also feel Barricade will be involved.

Im sorry if I rambled.....Im just putting the pieces that I see together.

What i said was true about what the writers said. The writting team was changed and they had to work with what they were told.

Those are not pix of the cars on set. There were 3 cars made.
Two are in LA and one is in Lubbock Texas. The same man owns all 3.
That is his trailer and he was moving the cars. That was way before ROTF.

Oh....and I take care of Barry #4.
