Well, in all fairness, he was a very successful director way before the first "Transformers" movie. "Armageddon" and "Pearl Harbor" were huge hits, both domestically and internationally. Actually, if I'm not mistaken, "Armageddon" was the most successful movie of 1998, globally.

But yes, you're right, he is part of the Top 10 most sucessful directors mainly because of the "Transformers" films.

By the way the article from the first post was written before the DOTM box office result. So we have to add $350 million to Michael's score. This makes $2.2 billion and the only director with better result is Spielberg ($3.9 billion). And Spielberg has 26 movies against 10 from Michael.
So we can change the thread title to "The 2nd most successful director of all time".

im just wondering, since the tf movies made loads and loads of money, how much money do the main actors get? im confused how that works. Like, the director gets most of the money, ofcourse since they made it. but how much do the actors make? im sure a lot too
