Mind blowing to hear just how much work has been put into this.
The Driller is my favorite thus far. So captivating.

^ Outstanding.
Looking at these videos I really can't see how another movie could win the award for VFX. But obviously that's not what matters to the Academy.
Have you noticed the blue truck at 1:23. So after all it was meant to replace the Dreads and not another character that some rumors mentioned.
Simply incredible, thanks for the share, def made my day.
And Transformers gets robbed again by Hugo for all 3 of its nominated categories. I was pretty sure Apes was going to win best visual effects as Hugo's vfx were nothing

I think it was obvious DOTM wouldn't win. The Academy hates Bay for unknown reasons.
Hoenstly, I'm done with the Oscars. Not because of this, they made an even bigger mistake in Crystal's Intro video...
The Academy obviously wanted Scorsese's movie to sweep the Oscars, there's no other reason for Hugo to beat out DOTM, Apes, or even Real Steel for VFX. After Hugo won sound mixing, I knew the fix was in.
True. I saw the trailer for that movie, and I was going to see it because of little Chloe Grace Moretz, but after I heard how boring it was, I skipped it. But the trailer still conveyed unimpressive SFX. That award should have gone to either TF3 or Rise of the Apes.
The oscars tries to hard to go as much against the grain of the movie going public as they can, and they mostly do this by awarding movies nobody gives a fuck about because they tend to be truly disconnected films. I'll probably never watch Hugo because of this.
