Second in Command

In Transformers, Jazz was Optimus' second in command. And after the shanghai fight in Revenge of the Fallen I thought Ironhide had filled the position. With both now dead who should take over?

I personally don't like the idea of Ratchet filling in like he seemed too after Ironhides loss in Dark of the Moon but I can't see anyone else?

Ironhide seemed like the most "leader type" autobot other than Prime but now that he's gone I think Sideswipe could fill in. His personality is sort of similar to Jazz's. Ratchet could just stay as the medic

I don't think that would work, Sideswipe just doesn't fit. I'd like Prime to get Ultra Magnus!

well sentinel was originally magnus but they changed it to sentinel because fans would not like the betrayal of magnus.

And apparently ultra magnus is that head you see when they enter the ark and move the dirt.

I thought the movie was hinting that it was Sideswipe next in command after Ironhide died. There was a scene, when the Autobots turned up in Chicago, and Optimus was laying the ground work to Epps team on what they were going to do, he then stands up, and says "Let's Roll", and then right after him, Sideswipe makes a command to Ratchet, when he says "Ratchet, you cover high" meaning he covers the high grounds.

Later on, after Q gives Sam his weapons, and shows him how to use them, Sideswipe comes back in and orders him "let's move Q" or something like that. Someone mentioned this on some of the Transformers bords, and while there is huge debate on it all, it does make sense that Sideswipe, with all of the Autobots on Earth at that moment, would be in second command, after all, look who trained him!

Don't know why the filmmakers would put that in if they weren't hinting at something. The subtle things in these movies usually add up to bigger things later on, it's why one must watch these films more than once. Too much going on, and the novel is totally useless now because so much has changed. Many viewings are needed.

lol there...I've seen 25 times now, I should know the whole movie word for word!!!

I noticed that, as well, in the Chicago scenes with Sideswipe. His role seemed to come across as second in command at that point. (Though, Ratchet does some ordering as well with the soldiers by the Chicago bridge near the end)

Either or works for me!
