Thread: Bay's views on fanediting?

    Default Bay's views on fanediting?

Does anyone know if Michael has any particular views on the world of fanediting?

Not necessarily the distribution of the fanedits, but just the idea of someone creating their own personal vision of movies to suit their tastes.

I know some directors are against this, while others fully endorse the idea.

Nobody knows, or at least has an idea?

No, publicly he hasn't said anything on the matter.

But I wouldn't be surprised if he answers here, on this thread. You never know...
"You know why the departures and the arrivals at LAX are on separate levels? So the 30,000 heartbreakers that come here each month don't notice the 30,000 that are leaving with their hearts broken."

Thank you for starting this thread! I've always wanted to re-edit the movie (mainly to cut out some of the unnecessary crap from the first movie), this would purely be to share with close friends and not to release on the web.

No offence, but "crap", especially when it's posted on the site for the man who made the movie, is a bit harsh. Of course, there's nothing wrong with a constructive criticism, but "crap" is something people would use when they're basically bashing an artist and his work.

"Parts of the movie I didn't like", sounds a lot better. I think we can agree on that.

Right, they may be crap to someone (and everyone has a different opinion on what is crap) but it's probably best not to call those parts you consider crap on the creator's site. I know there are several fanedits of the first 2 Transformers movies out there, and I'm sure they'll be some for the 3rd and I'm just curious if he has an opinion on this.

I guess nothing has ever been said...but...

    Michael??
    Nelson??

    Care to chime in?

I think you might need to loosen your transformers tinfoil hat... what happened to freedom of speech? What about all the people who within days of the last movie being released, started talking about a reboot? Isn't that also bashing the artist's work to a certain degree?

Ok I'll dumb it down for you: I would like to edit the movie and remove some of the comedy parts and make the storyline more darker and straight to the action.
