Well, I don't know much about cut scenes, but my first viewing was at an IMAX theater, and then last night I went on a regular 3D screen, and it seemed like the regular screen was a better experience, and didn't seemed so rushed and choppy, and I enjoyed the movie a lot more. I could have sworn that the regular rectangular screen seemed to show more than the squarer IMAX.

I'm starting to think I don't like the IMAX screens.

I'm going to see TF3 once more in just good ole fashion 2D. Several of my friends said they did that, and it was a much better experience. Shocking. But they said the same thing about Avatar too. The second viewing last night warmed me up more to the movie. This happens with me, don't anybody take it personally. I'm still pissed about some things though. Can you honestly blame me though?

Agree I've seen the movie on IMAX 3D and Dolby 3D. I personally liked the Dolby 3D more. I can swear that the image was cropped on the IMAX screen. Also it's a bit harder to get the whole picture on an IMAX.

Especially the Mexican standoff. Sideswipe's face was too close in IMAX, and I barely saw Ironhide take the spear in the shoulder. When I went last night, Sideswipe was in much better scope and focus, and the whole action scenes was 10x better. Like I said, I swear, my IMAX rushed the fighting scenes. My biggest complaint besides the IH disrespecting fiasco, was there were no Michael Bay signature slo-motion shots. When I went last night, they sure as hell were there then. Optimus Prime charging towards the driller was rushed and choppy in the IMAX, but gorgeous in the regular screen.

So I finally saw this movie yesterday and loved it! I can't really offer anymore than what has already been said. Except for one thing... You guys are talking about scenes being cut in certain viewings. Well I had a question about this. The movie I saw ( reg. 2D) had the full shot of Carly's ass ( a great ass shot), but the spot where I felt like something was cut had to do with the Decepticon invasion. I can't remember what was happening right before.. but its seemed like somebody said something about starting the attack, and then BAM! it cut straight to the night shot of the con ships attacking the city that was seen in the trailer. I kinda sat there like... damn... that was quick.. Like one second Chicago is fine and then the next... a wasteland. Is this how everybody else saw it?

The invasion cut was intentional. I can understand this, after Independence Day, it's going to be pretty hard to top that movie in scopes of shock and awe in the actual invasion of the Decepticons. It was good timing here to have it happen the way it did. I may bitch about things here and there in any movie I watch, but I will give credit where it is due!

IMAX is closer to the 4:3 aspect ratio of a standard television than to the widescreen view that most movies are shot in. Not sure what type of lenses were used on the 3D cameras during filming, but I know Bay likes to shoot anamorphic which is a very wide aspect ratio. Don't know if anamorphic lenses were used on the 3D cameras, but I'm sure the final cut of the movie was in the anamorphic aspect ratio which is 1.85:1.

So my guess is just as the sides of a movie are cut to fit the format of a television screen, the sides of the movie were cut to fit the IMAX ratio.

Yeah framing was all fu**ed up my first viewing, then the 2nd time (at another theater) the framing was good. Also noticed the Quick cut to night time with the decepticons invading, wonder why that decision was made. But I still like it know especially my second time seeing it.

Maybe it's my imagination. But in 3D I saw Sentinel Prime use his sword (weapon) to get down from the building in the end of the movie, but I don't remember it in the 2D version. Maybe I just missed it. Did anyone think/notice this?
