Default Michael Bay quits on Transformers

Why on earth would he quit one of the greatest things in his career and stop making transformers?

It's not quitting. He's done three.

Time to move on and do other things.

    Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! :head

Is it a final decision though!? COULD he do a fourth one!? I really really hope he does!!!! This franchise will go down in history! especially with ONE more. After people see this one, they'll definetely be on board for a fourth one! No question about it! Then, a fourth one would make even more money! and I don't even care if it's not in 3d! i just hope my favorite franchise in the world continues one more time!

Directing three massive blockbuster films in a row is very, very stressful. Give the guy a break.

Yeah that's true. But I'm 14 years old. I don't want a fourth one to come out when I'm an adult. Even though, I'll still watch it and enjoy it a lot (im saying IF he does a fourth one) , it won't be as fun as now. From 10 until now I always had a transformers film to enjoy. I'm still a kid, so I want to have another transformers film before i turn 18! It's awesome being a kid, and looking forward to Michael Bay's Next transformers movie! I'll definetely miss it....
Reboot? NOOO! i want michael bay to continue HIS story. If not, I won't enjoy whatever future transformers movie there is. If it's not the same story that michael bay started, then i won't be a big fan of it at all.

He has other movies he wants to make, he can't very well do that if he's doing one transformer movie after another. But I don't see why he couldn't be a producer on future films.

I remember after the first movie (I think) Bay said he would do small films between transformers 2 & 3, to do something different and arrive fresh to the next transformers.

Yep and he is well excused...he did a hell of a job with DOTM. As sad as it is, I think it's ok for him to quit now he have made a great movie to end it all.

    I totally agree with you.

He worked very hard on the TF franchise for the last years. He made what he could and even more to make of this trilogy one of the best trilogies and he's done an amazing job. He deserves a rest and if he wants to leave the TF franchise that's his decision. Yes, it is sad to me: Michael Bay introduced me to the Transformers world and made me a fan. I think he's the best choice to direct the TF movies (and if he changes his mind I will be happy to support him as a fan). But I'm still and always will be a big fan of his, whether he continues with TF or not.

He's going to make other movies and they will probably be as great as the Transformers movies. It's not like it's the end of the world.

I hope he's having a well-deserved rest. I'm looking forward to his next movie - TF or not TF.
Don't expect everyone to always agree with you

I can hardly deal with just the stress of life sometimes.

Life + making crazy blockbuster films = I would have died

Michael Bay did a great job with Transformers. He introduced me to this wonderful series. I loved it and went back further and watched old Transformers stuff and loved it to.

Transformers has brought me through a whole lot of life. When things get crazy I know I can retreat and watch some TF. I honestly don't know what I would have done without it. Life is hard sometimes. I think when life gives you lemons, go watch Transformers.
Call me Wolfie or Blade, your choice. And for the record, yes, I am female.
Starscream is my snuggles and he loves me very much. <3

I don't want to start an argument here, but I think Bay is glad to be done with the Transformers movies. He's made comments in interviews that he feels like he's making a "stupid f*cking robot movie". Yes, I know he's being self-deprecating when he says stuff like that on the record, but I don't know if there isn't a kernel of truth to it. There's no way around the fact that the Transformers movies are basically kid pictures, even though he's tried hard to make them more than that. He's also often expressed frustration with the limitations placed on summer blockbusters being mandated a PG-13, and cited that as a reason why he returned to hard R territory with Bad Boys II. Considering where DOTM leaves the storyline, it'll have to be rebooted anyway with a new lead (since LaBeouf is out too) and it might as well be a director who will bring a different style to the series like the Batman pictures.

NICE!! That should be added to your signature.

I'm content with the trilogy being just that but...if he wants TF to be a quadrilogy...BRING THE RAIN!!!
A creative signature would be right here if I wasn't such a procrast.....

I really do not see the point of doing a T4.

    1) Megatron is dead
    2) Sentinel Prime is dead
    3) Starscream is dead

There are really no major distinguish decepticons that is worth making a good story. The leader perished. The next in line also gone ... I think it's best the movie is left this way. If too many Transformers movie going on, everyone is going to start comparing which is better & everyone is going to criticise Michael Bay he's not doing what the audience is expecting and the ranting & whining never ends. Trully.

I believe (IMO) this is really the end and it's not worth making a 4th movie. The rest is up to your imagination or until the next director takes over. But I feel that it's enough of robots fighting, crashing, exploding and etc. It's good while it lasted. (Just my opinion)

Well, TF3 was the perfect transformers movie, in my opinion.
The other two I liked very much, but the third one was way
better than the two of them. That's why i want at least one more
movie to continue the well done job of transformers 3. Because
just as the franchise got completely AWESOME, it's really all over.
We had better characters this time, character improvement, awesome
action, a more dangerous threat to the world, the unique twists with Sentinel
and even Dylan...It just got too good to end there.
