Yes, I tought the same, after all in ROTF it is shown that it holds the conscience of the primes.i think he didnt want it because it would have figured out his plans. the matrix has some form of conscience, right?

The Autobot Matrix of Leadership in G1 held the Wisdom (spark) of previous Autobot leaders who were if you like hosts to it. It was also a vast power source that a new or existing Prime could use to light their darkest hour. IE destroy unicron and eliminate the hate plague.
Some people assume that in ROTF when sam 'died' he went to robot heaven when in fact he was in the matrix speaking with the sparks of past Primes. Perhaps the reason it could power the harvester was only a Prime had the authority to destroy a sun so as to prevent a random robot from destroying life.
SPOILER WARNING JUST IN CASE. I assume those reading this have seen the movie but in case someone hasnt, figured i'd post the warning.
Loved - The overal darkness of the film. It was brutal and emotional in the deaths. Even watching people dissintergrate was emotional. Iron Hide and Que were emotional etc.
Hated - That Megatron AGAIN is NOT the Decepticon Leader and considering the end of the film he may NEVER get that chance now. I would have prefered seeing Megatron kick some ass like in ROTF and even his brief TF1 battles, but here he was weak and did almost nothing. I would have loved a longer battle between Sentinel and Megatron WITH Prime helping Megatron. In this Megatron helps fight Sentinel but lasts 5 seconds, if that, against Prime who took a BEATING by Sentinel. So that I would have changed. I really wanted to see the TRUE leader of the Decepticons, Not Fallen and not Sentinel.
LOVED lots of action scenes
HATED ironhide dying, it felt like rotf was a much bigger movie
I dont mind about Ironhide death! I could be anyone.
mmm the reused footage from the island?? maybe becouse of that accident
I haven't read about the scene when Lazerbeak transform into a pink Bumblebee! Did I alucinated that or what?
I didn't like it to much but it dosen't matter, it was kind of scary, wich is good
i liked: the same things that everyone but things i havent seen mentioned
-The mention to pink floyd!
-Shockwaves face, specially when the desk and office stuff are falling. how he realised and turns his eye, then looks up !! in slow motion!! the expretion!!! That was incredible!
-the chernobyl secuence with optimus and his trailer!!!!!!!
-the final battle, it is mind blowing, i didn't know where to look.
Sentinel vs Pime!!! Optimus damage, wow!!!!!
ALL HAIL BAY
LOVED: everything also all of Rosie's scenesloved the scenes :lmaoofcourse i looked at everything call me guilty lol
HATED: ... cant think of much sorry =/ maybe after i see it a third time maybe..
When i Transform i release rockets with nanobot-viruses that destroys you from within... the fuel inside you will turn into acid, metal will melt instantly...
I'm a decepticon and my name is _____ All Hail Megatron!
Favorite part: TF dialogue/ action sequences
Least Favorite: everything else.
The worst:
Autobots hunting Arabs as rogue American soldiers.
Optimus explanation about why they make them believe they where dead.
Scenes missing (autobots captured, Optimus going to get his trailer...)
The bad:
John Malcovich playing with BB
Abrupt ending
Shockwave underused - he looks badass, but didn't do many things.
Bot deaths not really dramatic.
The good:
Ken Jeong, I found him funny.
John Malkovich hiring Sam
Flying men
Turturro
Parents (I have always liked them)
Brains and Wheelie
Frances MacDormand
Patrick Dempsey as "elegant bad guy"
Rosie HW - much better than expected.
The fat guy who goes with Epps.
Quote about Spock going nuts
The AWESOME:
The prologue
Alan Tudyk
Optimus entrance after Sam screams "Optimus!!!"
BB "That's my car"
Shockwave's pet and all the collapsing building scene
Autobots leaving scene
Freeway chase
Megatron's design.
The AWESOME 2
Laserbeack
Wait, one more thing i didn't like. Shockwave didn't talk as much. But he was still pretty beast.
Had a dream about the freeway chase, then got pissed cuz i woke up early! (Did i mention that i loved that part?)
least - Hide being killed
Most - The Birdman sequence.... the shuttle taking off.... Sam taking down screamer on his own....
Don S Davis 1942-2008
Godspeed
Favourite scenes:
- Megatron´s entry. Man he looked awesome.
- Soundwave, Megatron and Starscream conference. Been waiting for that.
- The entire execution scene. It was REALLY disturbing to me. I really felt for Que.
Least favourite:
- The end. Wtf was that? And Cybertron destroyed?! Ugh...
- Autobots hunting down arabs (but that also felt kinda G1 so I´ll just let it pass for nastalgia)
- Some plot holes (hoping for an extended version soon)
"Our remedies oft in ourselves do lie, which we ascribe to Heaven".
My least favorite thing about DOTM is quickly becoming the whiny posts on these boards.
(Not directed at anyone in particular, but you know who you are)![]()
Autobots!
Transform and...make a BILLION DOLLARS!
Favorite moments
- Intro
- Rosie taking a picture of herself at the White House (she is so effin' hot and cute in that scene!)
- The few scenes with Shockwave and the Driller
- Megatron in Africa
- Lazerbeak's assassination of the NASA guy
- Highway chase
- Sentinel Prime's betrayal
- All scenes with Patrick Dempsey, what a great human bad guy!
- The Autobots being exiled from Earth
- Sam and Epps picking up the other NEST soldiers and going into Chicago
- Wingsuit sequence
- The Chicago battle
Least favorite moments
- The awkward moments of comedy after Sentinel Prime's betrayal (Sam and his mom in the trailer... you know what I'm talking about)
- John Malkovich's playtime with Bee... ugh
- Deep Wang's "intimate" moment with Sam
- Sam, the scream queen...
- Simmons... I liked him better in ROTF
- The abrupt ending... this is supposed to be the last movie, right? So how about a better conclusion!
FAVORITE PARTS
• Character management. Using dialog, design and color to make sure viewers were able to keep track of what seemed to be +20 characters.
•The diversity of transformations, which involved everything from parkour to transforming back and forth within the same scene.
•The connection to the prior installments. Essentially, Sentinel went looking for help in the war, and chose the planet where the Primes took their last stand. Although he didn't find a race that could help them, and struck a deal with Megatron (drawing him to Earth, as well). This doesn't explain how the cube got to Earth, but let's ignore that minor detail
LEAST FAVORITE
•Most of the aforementioned plot holes.
•Not enough resistance from the civilians. Those screaming mimis were akin to lambs going to slaughter... and most didn't even throw a rock.
•The execution of one particular JFK computerized dialog scene and the non-look-alike standing in for President Obama. While Secretary Mcnamara's old footage came off well, his banter with Pres. Kennedy was strange, as Kennedy's face was so rubbery. Of course, the presidents are so recognizeable, those scenes probably couldn't be pulled-off without a hitch.
First part: I thought Autobots were helping the humans face human enemies and since we still have that pesky war on terror going on, it didn't make me think "attacking arabs" but rather following how things are going in real life and 80% of all tv crime shows.
Part 2: I don't think the Autobots hide and let Chicago get destroyed, they just had to make their way back and we don't know how far away the booster landed...unless I missed that. Again, my personal view, I didn't see it as a "teach the humans a lesson" so much as they did what had to be done to protect humans. If they didn't leave and just picked a fight they could have lost everything.
Anyway, back on topic
Least fav:
- Megatron STILL not the Decepticon leader was disappointing. First only 30 min TF1, ROTF is Fallens bitch and now Sentinels.
- Some random and choppy cuts
- Optimus gets tangles and no decepticons ships come shoot him down.
- Wreckers underused
- Shockwave being underused
- Probably biggest complaint was that their was no battle AS EPIC as Prime versis Megatron, Starscream and Grindor in ROTF.
Favs:
- Darker tone mixed with comedy that I felt worked for me
- Emotional moments from Sentinels betrayal to the deaths and almost death of BB, Autobots leaving Earth. All that worked really well
- Sam's story. I felt this was his best yet and LOVED his attitude. Bit cocky, more sure of himself (not with carly but with army and robots stuff)
- Laserbeak was BRUTAL. I liked it
- The graphics were AMAZING. I hate the Oscars already but if DOTM loses for special effects, well nothing I can do. I already don't support the Oscars as I refuse to watch. TF1, another possible choice versus Golden Compas polar bears that Coke has been doing since the 90's. BS!!! I can't remember who the other one was but even THEY deserved to win more than the polar bears with BAD animal graphics that is NOTHING new. Hell, "cats and dogs" which had real animals with animated faces was better graphics. end rant.
I really do need to watch the movie again. I enjoyed it a lot.
