Yeah, I think TF3 is on course to make $1billion. It's made $525 million worldwide in just 10 days! It hasn't been in theaters even a month and it's made over half a billion.

For DOTM to at least be one of the small list of movies to reach $1 Billion it has to beat:
    The Dark Knight: $1,001,921,825

    Transformers 4 - Summer 2014

Would be great if TF3 broke a 1B mark. Truly extraordinary. But even if it makes 500, 600, 700 million..--- theres most likely a sequel or a re-vamp to follow. But box office looks like its going to be incredible.

saw it for a second time last night and the theater was packed....last weekend when I saw it the auditorium was about half full, last night it was packed. The theater had two real2 auditoriums, an IMAX 3d, and two 2d. The 5:15 show was the one I was at in 2d. when we got out the line for the 9:15 showing was out the door. At least by me it is still going strong. I checked all of the 3d shows, and they were sold out completely for yesterday, so I got stuck seeing it in 2d again. Still great to watch and I saw so many other things I missed the first time

Saw it for the second time last night and the salon was packed.
It's one of the biggest in Sweden. 417 seats. Real 3D. There is no IMAX in Sweden.
Only problem is that TF3 will get kicked out of that salon on Wednesday when Harry Potthead premieres and it will get moved to a smaller salon that only has 98 seats!

Domestic attendance is down....less people are seeing this than ROTF...the only difference is that this film costs about $2.50 more per ticket on average to see due to the 3D...

$261mil in 12 days is great numbers for this film...it gets to stay in first thru Thursdsay...it wil probably be around the 282-287mil range before this weekend...

this weekend: DOTM $23million yes!! it crosses 300 million... POTTER: $150 million- I think Potter will destroy the worldwide record for opening weekend... Potter will pass DOTM domestically by the end of its third weekend...

    International - $384m
    Domestic - $261m
    Total - $645m

The movie looks like it will pass the second movie (ROTF) in worldwide gross but possibly fall short of $1 billion. Still a great feat!

    Very true, BR.

On top of that, one has to wonder how to measure the true dollar value of such a third installment. You'd need to add Transformers toy sales, which likely increased (think of Darthrage's thread on that topic), as well as DVD sales for the first and second parts. In short, box office figures may not accurately reflect the likely "Jordan Effect" that this movie has had for the brand.
