I could never understand the wanting of a movie to fail. I don't know, but there is just something sad and wrong when a movie doesn't at least meet it's production cost, and I don't know why anyone would want it to fail.

Im glad Michael and Paramount DID do this and im very grateful for that.
Here, here! I felt that the movies got less in quality the further into the chapters they dived in. Most interesting, Harry Potter 3 is now considered the better movie by most critics and casual fans, but at the time, it got slammed because it detracted a bit too much from the book, and was met with the most disappointing box office.

Just my take on the thing. I loved the first four movies, liked the fifth movie, HBP will go down in my book as the most awful movie I have ever seen. I cannot fathom how someone could list ROTF as the worst movie and not put HBP on there too. The last two installments were disjointed, and I didn't even feel I was watching a Harry Potter movie, just some Twilight shit with Harry Potter actors.

I'm just curious. The article says that DOTM is the first billion dollar earner for Paramount, but according to BOM, Paramount is listed as the studio that released Titanic as well???? Uh, isn't Titanic a billion dollar earner too??????????

I think the way it worked with Titanic was Paramount only put there name to it for the international market i think, or the other way around. But basically although the movie made over a billion, Paramount only got around $600,000 odd. It was something like that anyway.

But even then, Paramount is not the sole distributor for Transformers either, they are in cohorts with Dreamworks. Something about that whole thing is off. I doubt Paramount is getting the sole billion to their checking account, since it's a joint effort with Dreamworks.

Transformers was something for them but now is another story and Paramount got more serious because learn its lesson ! Transformers trilogy is experimental but now is a legendary success ! The next movies will be the real winners

Do not break your head . Yes experimental paramount did not expected TFs to go so that far not even the 700 Million mark ...so that's why i call this trilogy an experiment but that's my opinion The next will be 2 times or 3 the excitement don't you think ?

    Current DOTM numbers:

    Domestic: $341m
    Foreign: $675m
    TOTAL WW: $1.016b

DOTM is about $20m behind Pirates-4 on the WW chart...so it should pass it this weekend.
    If it does, it'll be 7th all-time.
    Autobots!

You hear and read so many stories and rumors. But, I did read that Don Murphy had been trying for ten years to find a studio to back up a live action Transformers movie, until Paramount and Dreamworks gave it a shot. And it's been sort of an underground Transformers fanatic joke that all of those studios that turned Transformers concept down are probably kicking themselves in the ass!

So...every time Transformers finishing as second in place . First with Spiderman because it was the last Spidey . Then with Avatar because was in the best 3D and now with Potter because is the last Transformers will finished behind it ? It's not fair for the fans ! Every time a movie is the last on it's kind will made Transformers goes behind it ? With this skeptic Transformers might forever be a second movie and this is an insult to the fans ! Something is so wrong about Transformers movies . Besides the huge success . Don't you thing . I am happy enough for the billion and the 5th or 4th place in all time worldwide but as far as it goes it not enough . We want a movie that become first and second to none guys . The haters did not leave Mr.Bay to reach the first place as of now , or some people are very well paided for this unfair job in box office or the strategy was this from the start . I have my opinions maybe you have others , i don't know but this is not right every time a Transformers movie finished in second place . It's ridiculous and i will not change my opinion because all of other friends people and tons of others agree with me !!! Transformers must finish first not second . Are a legend and for all of us second to none !!! Technically Transformers are first this year !

I wonder why it takes BOM so long to update the foreign total like Japan....it's still stuck on the 31st.

The total foreign gross is updated but the separate country gross isn't.

    DOTM Worldwide gross through Sunday - $ 1 038 000 000 billion.
Now the movie surpassed Pirates 4 and Alice and is on 7th place of the all time box office.
Next target Toy Story 3 and Pirates 2.

I did some math and extrapolated that DOTM should make another $35m-$40 worldwide.
That would put it 5th on the all-time list...ahead of Pirates 2...and it only needs another $28.5m to get there.

It would need to make another $81+ million to pass LOTR:ROTK for #4...but that seems pretty unlikely at its current pace. :lame
