I don't think TF3 will win against HP.... I don't want this to happen but the fan base for HP is just higher than the TF fan base.

it is hard to argue against a 43.5 mil midnight screening.... Potter's first day is just going to be ridiculously large....ready for jaw to drop in a few hours when the news is released

You must be more realistic i told you see the big differences in domestic box office over the years 2007 - 2009 ! HP never topped TFS in US so why now ? Let's wait and see

I'm no fan of Potter but the franchise has earned the huge success this last one is going to make. And we have to realise Potter does have a far larger fan base, and it's no suprise Potter built its fanbase on solid books, and solid story.

Transformers is just getting started in those terms, up until a few years ago Transformers was just a bunch of blocky toys, with a terrible cartoon to most people. In the end it really doesn't matter Potter will break records, and do amazing numbers, but DOTM will probably make a billion too, te success of Potter doesn't suddenly make DOTM a failure.

TF has never been the number one movie for any year.. N. American box office is important, but total worldwide is what the studios truly look at now. It used to be if you made 100 mil, you were a blockbuster....that number is more or less 200 million now, but with the budgets of these films, they need worldwide take to be big- example-

1)Clash of the Titans- horrible domestic box office for a summer film...kick ass worldwide total = sequel

TF3 is already a success...if it beats Potter domestically, good for it!! If it doesn't the world will not end....if it beats it out worldwide, thats like Tyson losing to Douglas...it will shock the world

If Potter beats TF3 domestically, it won't be a surprise.... When it beats TF3 worldwide it is standard operating procedure.....

I don't think you actually do agree with me, as I implied clearly in my post that I think the G1 cartoon is pretty terrible.

As far as domestically for TF3 around 350 million if I had to bet on it.

But I have to ask why the obsession with how much money it makes. Do you have shares in Paramount, and Hasbro?

No no i have not shares but i want to top HP8 in US so TFs will be the movie of the year at least ones

Movie of the year is entirely subjective, has nothing to do with money. Aslong as you enjoyed DOTM that's all that should matter.

I agree but i want Transformers 3 to be written yearly 2011 forever like Spiderman and the staff and only if it won the war domestically will remains that way . See yearly 2011 at boxoffice mojo . I want to remain that way
