I have no doubt that TF3 will pass the 1 billion mark World-wide.
It has been in the theaters for only two weeks now and it has already made more than $650 million in totals. It will still run at least a month or more in the theaters, so I wouldn't worry about not giving Harry Potter a good fight at the Box Office.
We just gotta put our hopes on the people in the US!!
Come on people!! Go and see Transformers 3 in 3D ASAP!!!!
The proof is right here! Every Potter movie has been beat by Transformers so far in the USA! Are you gonna let that record to be broken now when it matters the most?

Don't ask what your country can do for you, but what you can do for Transformers instead!

I agree totally with you and i add this : Domestic gross has a way to go . The competition will be the hardest in years because of the Potter last film but i strongly believe that when HP8 premieres , already TF3 will be topped every HP movie at around $317 Millions and this will be domestically only .... i hope for it
So one shall stand one shall fall beyond that point !!!!

There's virtually no chance at $350m now...let alone $1b worldwide.

Looks like it'll top out at around $335m-$340m domestic and maybe $875m-$900m total worldwide.

I don't think Paramount will be too sad about it though.
i strongly believe in $350 millions min. domestically and i add this : the drop was the same as 2009 only a little of or around a -5% more so i believe in 1 billion and 350 & over domestically as far as it seems by now At least TF3 will top Potter in US i strongly believe in that !!!

And when you look how long Pirates 4 has been running (premiered on May18th!!) and it still runs at the theaters, there's no way TF3 is gonna go away any time soon.
Pirates 4 has passed the 1 billion mark and I have no doubt that TF3 will pass that mark as well. DOTM may no longer be shown in the biggest salons or theaters, but people will still go and see it for many weeks to come and slowly but surely it will chew it's way to the Top 10 of the All-time World-wide Box Office list.

I agree except TF3OTM & HP the last there will be no Avatar this time around in addition of 1 plus month closing November this year Transformers has more chance than ever before ...Potter will fall between 300 & 330 millions maybe even lower .... but i am afraid a little.....Transformers must pass 350 Millions !
I want TF3 to be a king of 2011 like Spiderman 3 .... I have no so much respect to Potter as Spiderman or Batman and it will be a real shame for Transformers franchise to fall by potter . Michael Bay must not lose from David yates for a god sake !!!! It's ridiculous :P

Keep your fingers crossed, Im hoping for top 3 of all time, if so I'm going to freak out and pray that they make another. A re-boot would be cool, but I like what has been established so far. I want to see Unicron come to earth and hand over our faces. That would be nuts, the 3D would be nuts, and earth would be doomed, yay. Plus think about all of the star wars type of fighter chase sequences they could have, like at the beginning of DOTM, going through Unicron to destroy it. Anyways just saying, would be dope.

    Current box-office numbers:

    Domestic: $273m
    Foreign: $406m
    TOTAL: $679m

DOTM had $6.07m for Tuesday (domestic)...up 3.4% from Monday.
It's the first TF movie to increase on the 2nd full-week Tuesday.

    Thinking positive!!!

Just came from the cinema from an early showing-people still coming in to see-yea!

They've slimmed off only 1 of the 3D theatre showings of 2 that they had. The 2D still will be showing on 2 screens. Positiveness!!!-should be able to pick up the slack of Potter over the weekend AND allow me more viewings next week! (shootin for a record!) I'll be going back tonight to see it 3D with a friend.

I just wish I hadnt seen the local news van there..."breaking news"...as I'm sure they're there for Potter. They've got a marathon of all the movies going leading up to the last tomorrow.

    "Lets Roll", people!!!

I have to admit i generally don't care much about how much a movie makes... if i come out having enjoyed myself, that's enough for me.

I don't think TF3 will win against HP....at all. I probably sound like a douche right now but HP8 will definitely make over a billion and TF3 probably making in the $800 millions. I don't want this to happen but the fan base for HP is just higher than the TF fan base.

I'm on the same track that HP is gonna make big numbers, like above the 1 billion mark in total, just because they have about 100 million more fans world wide compared to Transformers. The only thing I can see that would drop the numbers a bit is that how many non Potter fans will go and see the movie. I mean, how much fun is it to go and see a movie when you don't know jack shit what has happened before?
As I see it, that's not the case with TF3. You must have not seen the first two to be able to enjoy and understand the third one. People who enjoy watching good action movies and want to see the BEST 3D so far seen on the big screen should go and see TF3. So I'm hoping that TF3 will pass the 1 billion mark in totals, but it will be tough even if it will be running at the theaters for another month or so...
