The movie looks like it will pass the second movie (ROTF) in worldwide gross but possibly fall short of $1 billion. Still a great feat!

When Potter comes out made the speculation not now ! Domestically Potter never was greater than Transformers . So why now ? The pre order tickets are lower than was expected to be !

By the way Not all 3D movies charge more for 3D. I've seen it twice in real D 3D and I did not pay any more then if I had seen it 2D. But I did have to pay extra for Imax 3D tickets, but thats a big price difference all together. Anyone else notice this, or is it just around me, Im North of Chicago

I highly doubt that. Have you see the international numbers of the previous HP movies? J. K. Rowling's book is much more popular out of the USA. For example all 7 HP movies are in top 20 of the international box office (the lowest with $550M). ROTF is 37th with $430M.

As you can see, both of the first two Transformers movies has made more money in the US than the best Potthead movie.

But this time numbers are critical both Domestically and worldwide ...Come on guys let's go and see TF3 more in USA . TF3 is better movie than the previous 2 . Do not listen the haters just see by yourselves !!!

Domestic attendance is down....less people are seeing this than ROTF...the only difference is that this film costs about $2.50 more per ticket on average to see due to the 3D...

$261mil in 12 days is great numbers for this film...it gets to stay in first thru Thursdsay...it wil probably be around the 282-287mil range before this weekend...

this weekend: DOTM $23million yes!! it crosses 300 million... POTTER: $150 million- I think Potter will destroy the worldwide record for opening weekend... Potter will pass DOTM domestically by the end of its third weekend...

By the end of the 3rd weekend TF3 will top not only 300 Plus millions Domestically but it will be top every HP movie in Potter's history . HP has it's debut 14th and TF3 already will top $300 Millions in that day . As far as i can possibly see HP never will be better in gross than TFS Domestic gross always !!! . But everything is in liquid form . The war is the hardest of all time !!!

I see now a very big drop of 54% this Monday and this is not good at all $5,865,438
.... and HP is coming out all the way

Yeah...that Monday number was bad.
There's virtually no chance at $350m now...let alone $1b worldwide.

Looks like it'll top out at around $335m-$340m domestic and maybe $875m-$900m total worldwide.

I don't think Paramount will be too sad about it though.

Yeah but we still don't know, It still has a chance to cross the 1 billion dollar mark the weekends are always strong so my prediction it will make about 30 or 26 million this weekend and the overseas are strong especially in 3D and it has yet to open in japan and china.

I'm doing my share here...up to 17 times I've seen this movie in both 3D & 2D mixed.
Will see 3 more times before the end of week to make an even 20. More after??!!??...

Theatre I go to said Potter has sold out 7 Midnight showings...argh!!!! Transformers DOTM was only 3. The weather being great here and the timing of the release with our 'Summerfest' (which is big in Milwaukee) hurt the numbers here big time.

Potter will have a killer 1st weekend, looks like...just hope the numbers drop after that!!!
