I think if they had reduce the human screen time..and put mroe bot time..the movie would have cost $500+ mil to make

Hmmmm, I don't see no problem whatsoever with Optimus Prime's behavior. He get's it, we don't live in a universe where we hold eachother's hands and sing we are the world.

And I like this pissed off, frustrated and determined Prime. Two of my favorite little things with him, one was when he just lost his trailer, and he's inside the building, and claims that he must get to his trailer, he needed that jet pack or something like that. I don't remember.

Another thing I love, is after he shows up in Chicago, he goes "Let's roll" I love the way he turns his finger in the air during that quote. Nice little touches like that can go a long way IMHO!

Why? They seem to have had more quality bot time in the first Transformers, and it cost less too.

Then trim the big sets down. The first Transformers was perfectly done, it had a great story, we got to know the Autobots for a while, and the human characters before shit started, and they managed to destroy a city, 3 military bases and a major highway, and all of the Autobots and major Decepticons got to have some damn good fighting scenes as well. Just saying. Now that this movie is looking to make a billion, I say give what the fans want, and you shall be rewarded.

First off...DOTM is AWESOME...the movie is epic!!!

As I'm a newbie here and not sure if some of this was covered previously in this thread-
    [COLOR=blue]some thoughts...

I had read the official novel prior to watching the movie (I know-my bad!)...and, for the most part, the movie plays close to it. Even dialogue matching to a tee, in cases. I do like how the book 'details' alot... I know you just cant always do this in the movies.

*Ok, first off, I'm sorry...but, I actually think 'Mirage' fits the vehicle better than 'Dino'. JMHO...

*I'm hoping this was a deleted scene(maybe?!?!)...but, Optimus was to meet with the President at Air Force One at the time of Sentinel's rampage at NEST(per the book). [COLOR=blue]Ratchet ends up sending electronic messages to Optimus explaining what is going on with Sentinel turning on Ironhide, etc. I know we get the scene of Optimus arriving after Sentinel has left the carnage with the pillars and some of his post reaction. But the initial confusion and disbelief that is brought up in the book that Optimus feels upon learning all this...I missed that. Especially Sentinel being his mentor & all...

*Q dies differently in the movie...if he had to, glad you changed from the book! Also, like Dino's fate better in the movie as well!

*Curious as to why Optimus uses Megatron's gun to kill Sentinel in the end instead of the acid rust gun he uses in the book? Would have been more fitting, I think, considering what Sentinel did using it on Ironhide.

*Michael, I personally like how you have the ending of this movie play out-as far as the battle between Optimus/Sentinel & Megatron. The book's is...interesting...I'll leave it at that!

Hoping and anxious to see 'deleted scenes' on the Blu Ray DVD for this movie! Curious what was all cut out...if anything.
    It's more epic, for sure.

I hate being negative, but to me it seemed like the Autobots were winning the war by the time Sentinel was revived. They won 2 major battles and seemed to have everything under control. Sentinel could have easily saw that and avoided the turn to the decepticons. I guess it can be argued that he flipped because he didn't like humans.

Default Why did Dylan reactivate the Control Pillar?

What did he say to Sam before he reactivated it? It was, of course, properly translated (in German), but I didn't get his view/position in the bigger scheme that well.
At first I understood that he was forced to work under their rule - like his father did - but then later on also tried to make plans to have Earth not fall under the Decepticon's tyranny? But then, during the battle, he realised something or so ... and reactivated the Control Pillar.

Could someone please explain it bit more?

He was a brown noser maybe?

Perhaps the decepticons told him something to convince him to work for them, they are called decepticons for a reason. They would've told him anything to get him to do their bidding.

You seem to forget that this is also entertainment in the true Hollywood sense. It's SHOW business, not charity.

Being how extremely visual these movies are and the fact that it's a 3D movie, each new one requires the spectacle to be bigger than the other one.

well since humans were going to be slaves. maybe they told him he would be incharge of all of them, or something.. maybe like a president of the slaves or something like that?
or maybe he just wants to see the world crash & burn while he survives... dunno

You know... i kinda saw Dylan as someone who had been brainwashed to a degree....

i mean (IIRC) he said his father was part of the original conspiracy and had told Dylan that his role in life was to make the take over happen...

the blind following of the plan, even when it was falling apart around him, just screamed 'Brainwashed' to me

He just simply wanted to be the head-human in charge once the Decepticons took over.

also dylan, was a complete moron.. he was like one of the lamest bad dudes ever! the highlight of his stupidity was when he told carly about the pillars, and that the red one controls them all. why would any bad guy ever tell a hostage how the whole plan works? he basically just fucked himself. another stupid part was him pointing the gun at sam, and just talking shit. if you're going to point the gun at anyone, you better pull the trigger. idiot. he should have killed sam when he had the chance.. instead he kept talking trash "you choose sides, well you chose wrong.. blah blah.." sam was also knocked out for a bit, he could have bash his head in with a brick or somethin..
if i was him, i wouldnt stop soundwave from touching carly with the tenticles when she was in the car, would have let soundwave enjoy himself, then when sam was on the ground after spitting in my face, i would get a couple of kicks in at the very least.
also sam should have taken the shot when he had the chance, instead of shouting "where is she?" like a moron.
if your making a bad guy, make him bad to the bone. dylan was just retarded. if bay does do a TF4, call me i'll play the bad guy..

I think Dylan said it himself why he was helping the D-Cons: " I just want another 40 years".

And also... what's the penalty for high treason in America? And what's the penalty for crimes against humanity at the Haia international court for justice?

Maybe he knew what was waiting him if humans won the war!!

    1. Bay will NOT make a 4th movie, so don't worry.

    2. IF you were to be casted to TF4 as villain, which fortunately will never happen, you would have to follow the script, of which you would have no influence on whatsoever

    3. try and use capitol letters once in a while.

A fine up to 10,000 or the death penalty, depending on the court's ruling.

and the transformations were lame.....compare to ROTF and DOTM.... we think TF1 CG was so good because it was the first time we saw something like that on big screen...go back and see when barricade transformered quickly and drove after BB ...lame....when blackout transformed in the beginning...lame compare to the transformation the this movie...plus this is 3D.....

They should have shot it in 2D..the 3D money would have probably gone to more bot screen time

The whole Dylan aspect reminded me heavily of Sean Burger in 'Megatron's Master plan' the G1 episode.
