Heres my review.
When I was watching Cybertron, at the beginning of the movie, I thought This is going to be great!. But
It wasnt! I saw the trailer and started picturing the movie and it was nothing like I imagined, maybe that was one of the problems. Im going to tell you, what I didnt like (most of it has already been mentioned by some of you).
- Watching the Autobots getting involved in human conflicts. Let humans do their own dirty job. I even got the feeling that Optimus didnt like to be part of it, when he mentioned it.
- Optimus killing Megatron too easily and especially when Meg had asked for a truce; this was so not Optimus
I mean, Optimus Prime, the just and wise leader of the Autobots, would NEVER act this way, even if he was pissed off.
- Optimus saying: I will kill them all. Once again out of character
I quote starscream1017 when he says that Optimus is the real Decepticon in this movie. Thats the way that they (the writers) made him look like.
- The Autobots had no help from human weapons, like in the previous movies, which makes it hard to believe that they could possibly have won the battle.
- Not being able to watch Optimus getting his trailer back.
- The way they announced Shockwave like the major villain and then making him look ridiculous. Was it that hard to write a dialogue between Shockwave and Megatron? It could even have been in cybertronian
- Too much humans screen time versus too little robots screen time. Except for Simmons who should have had a lot more screen time.
- Malkovich playing with Bumblee. :wtf was that????
- Sams mother talking about the size of Sams ****. Id had enough of that in ROTF when she talked about her son loosing his virginity. And on Transformers 1, her lovelly line (please note that Im being sarcastic) Are you masturbating? is what keeps me from giving the movie a 10 out of 10.
- Rosie did better than I thought, but still doesnt fit in the trilogy. Its not that Im a big fan of Megan Fox or anything, but the Mikaela character was important. She was there from the beginning, she was part of the story, she went to through a lot with Sam and therefore they had a connection that no one else could ever replace (at least not successfully). Also, I think Megan and Shia worked better than Rosie and Shia. I think its such a shame that behind the scenes things didnt go well, because Im sure that the movie would have been so much better (regarding the humans universe, of course). Its hard to believe that Carly is the one for Sam and therefore the final scene when he hugs her had no major impact on me, as the final scene from ROTF had. Thus, Ill always see the first movie and ROTF as part of the same thing, and DOTM as something apart.
- Optimus getting stuck at some wires and having to ask others to help him. Er
doesnt he have TWO swords??? Besides I think it made Optimus look ridiculous.
- Starscream, Megatron and Ironhide getting killed
If they wanted to end the franchise, it didnt have to be this way. Plus, not having a word from the Autobots on Ironhides death was just cruel.
- Que and Sentinel Prime looking like humans. Why was that??? I really dont get it
- The abrupt ending. Did they run out of battery in the cameras or what? A minute was all it take to make a more decent ending.
In conclusion, like someone already said here, great CGI work, but it had no heart. They didnt manage to create the magic that we had in the first (and even a little in the second) movie. Even the soundtrack, that by the way is transcendent (Jablonsky did it again, thank God), seemed to be out of place
I believe all of this is due to a major editing problem.
Things I liked:
- when they showed Cybertron, at the beginning

Amazing!!!
- Wheelie and Brains (who also went to heaven like most of the characters
We almost had a Hamlet version of Transformers)
- The scene where we see Bumblee transform, throw Sam in the air and transform again. That was really fantastic.
The whole CGI is magnificent. Although, for me, an image is not worth a thousand words. I would rather know a little more about the new characters.
Quoting JoRom, I say:
Mr. Bay you had me with TF1. You scared me with ROTF. You lost me with DOTM.
TF 1 is still my number one and I think its because there was more time to think and to write. A brilliant movie, in my opinion.
Still, Ill watch DOTM one more time. As I already know what to expect, maybe Ill be able to forgive certain scenes
