Something I noticed on the 2nd viewing was how sometimes during important scenes (plot exposition) there was some other stuff going on that distracted from the dialogue.

Case in point...the scene in the apartment when Sam's boss came over and was playing with Bee in the background while plot points were being discussed by Sam and Simmons.

If I hadn't read the book beforehand, I might not have been able to follow the story as well.

But, I guess that's what multiple viewings are for.

Took my two oldest boys to see it in IMAX 3D today...and WOW! Just WOW! It was better than I expected, and I expected a lot. Thank you to Bay and company for the hard work that went into this film. I especially appreciate how you depict our military. Honestly, the only thing missing from this movie was a scene of me kissing my wife and kids bye as I head off to Chicago to join the fight.

Gotta love my boys from the 101st getting some love. Hooah!

Assuming by the avatar and your comments you were in the 101st.

If so, thank you for your service, sir - the guys in the movie played heroes; you are one.

Please makes it like Transformers 1..
I just can say TF3 is the most disappoint Michael Bay movie to date..All his movie were greater than this!!Maybe the writer Ehren Kruger fault..oh no...got to wait another 3 yrs to wait for another TF movie. How can the protoform fly the jet, just show them as the jet robot, thats only great..
Just if really got another TF movie please correct this:-
    1. No old/human face looking Robots
    2. Advance weapon please ( just like Shockwave cannon in this movie suppose to be a powerful laser gun, like good example weapon from blackout in TF1, don't let the robot weapon system weaker from 1st to 3rd, suppose to be greater right)
    3. More screentime and transformations on each of the robots please!and specified name so they can communicate with their leader a bit...don't die in an blink of an eye, let us have enough fun with all characters.
    4. Powerful character like Bruticus,Tidalwave, Superion & Omega Supreme Etc..make them look awesome, dont like slow motion king kong in TF2, make them like in the cartoon with advance weapon system..and before they combine to form combiner, transform to single robot 1st, and after can't defeat their enemies then only turn to gigantic robots!
    5. Don't put any protoform in TF movie again, I prefer every one is Transformers and hiding in disguise from their enemy!

Maybe the budget will be more higher if use mu point but this is every transformers fans wanted to see right..and if really add another 100 million to the budget it also won't influence the box office numbers!!maybe it will gross more than before right..please consider that..

Watched TF3... I am speechless!!! What an AMAZING movie! I rate this movie 10 out of 10! I loved it!

Just finished watching TF1 and TF2 and I must say they are all excellent! I don’t care what anyone says about TF2, it IS brilliant!

TF3 really gave me the emotional experience I was looking for and I am nowhere near disappointment. My only sadness goes to the fact that there won’t be any more TF movies!

I understand the point of view that without Megatron and Starscream and Sentinel Prime there is very few things left to write about. But I am still sad about it.

The last 4 years of my life has been amazing! Following the making of the TF movies and eagerly looking forward to watching each one! I am sad that this era has come to an end and in a BIG BIG way I hope it hasn't but as a HUGE Michael Bay fan, I respect his decision and will ALWAYS support his decisions!!!

I LOVE TRANSFORMERS, TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON AND MICHAEL BAY!!!

Thank you MB for introducing me to this franchise and giving me the love for movies (especially your movies and especially the TF movies and especially the TRANSFORMERS!)!!! You have really brought me A LOT of happiness since 2007 and I will ALWAYS love your movies! Can’t wait for your next one!!!

DOTM could be described by Brain's quote - ''This is a clusterfuck!''

    Loved that! Brains was cool.

Who the hell is Igor!? In the end credits, in the robot cast, there was an Igor there. Who the hell is he!? Was it one of the hatchlings in Africa?

I still feel sad for Que, I liked him and he got killed. "Sob"

The point is that just because you weren't pleased (and that's perfectly fine), doesn't mean that the filmmaking decisions were wrong (in the objective sense).
He's right, it was the wrong decision on so many levels. Once things got dark and serious, you keep it that way until the light at the end of the tunnel is revealed. The way Ironhide was handled was disrespectful, and that is a FACT!

And I didn't like how Sam runs home, and is not freaking out or rushing to get his parents out of dodge. The pacing in this whole sequence was a total miss. You think I'm wrong, go read all of the Transformers and movie boards, where it's the regular joe voicing his opinion, not the critics. ROTF, the way they handled Prime getting killed, was how they should have handled Ironhide. At least that was respectable! This is where ROTF shines and DOTM doesn't!

Prime trailer transformation should have gotten more screen time..............we hould have seen how prime transformed in his flight tech..............................
I think megatron was weak..sick..why didnt he just kill carly...
Sam was too calm..whne he was in his parent trailer..after that freeway chase....

SOME OF YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THE LINES IN THE MOVIE
At the Lincoln memorial starscream said something like this "master this is ur greatest plan yet.."
Megatron said " Yessss me and sentinel was to meet up after the ship escaped cybertron but fate prevented us from doing so until now..."..
    or some line like that

If they had meet up, the whole cube thing was neevr gonna happen..It appears thatfater Meg lost contact with SP (plan A) he went on to plan B..but OP launch the cube into space...etc etc

whne the blu ray comes out...we'll understand the whole movie much better

Yeah, except in isn't a fact. Or a FACT! It's an opinion. Seriously, do people not know the definition of fact? Sometimes on this board I feel like I'm watching Fox News.

And the regular joes on the movie boards? They aren't regular joes. If you are on a movie board, you are a movie nerd.

If you really wanted to determine if you are correct about Ironhide's exit, then we would have to (at the very least) go ask people coming out a theater, pre-test them to determine any biases, and then ask them a series of questions that would get at there feelings on this subject. You know, science.

Again, thinking it was handled poorly is perfectly fine, but don't drop " it's a fact!" on me. I said that while it didn't bother me, perhaps on repeat viewings I will feel different. So there is a possibility that I might end up agreeing with you! But it still wouldn't make it a fact.

You can hit people with anecdotal evidence until you're blue in the face, all it will show is that there are people out there that agree with your opinion, not suddenly make you factually right and someone else wrong.

In retrospect (now that I've had a moment to read some of the other comments), that would also apply to some of those overly hostile ones who seem to think this movie is flawless.

    Well said...

What I like most about this film despite its many flaws, there are many, is that it is extremely re-watchable. Not necessarily on the big screen (i've seen it twice), but definately at home. I used to buy dvd after dvd just to say I had them. What a bad idea....i have now changed the MO to only films i will watch over and over. This most definately qualifies. I will get to complain at parts i dislike and cherish the parts I love.

Someone mentions that they were distacted by Malkovich's character fooling around with Bumblebee and it took away from the plot discussion....well,what do you expect his character to do???? He had never seen an autobot up close and his demented personality took over and he was obligated to interact.....personally, if he just stood there and did nothing to allow Simmons and Sam to discuss uninterupted, it would have made his presence unnecessary (which may have been a better idea IMO), but that wasn't the idea Bay had for this scene.....he seemed to have wanted to mix humor and key info....

I agree about Malkovich's character. If I saw Bumblebee, I can pretty much guarantee that I some point I would try to "box" with him. I wouldn't be able to help myself. I would feel the same about meeting a giant gorilla. It would be awesome.

    Finally saw it, and:

Far superior to Revenge of the Fallen. It was a nice touch haveing the real astronauts who landed on the moon in the movie, also loved the Star Trek referenses. The only disapointing thing I can think of was the 3D. It has nothing to do with the way it was filmed, I just couldn't get the full feel of it because the 3D glasses didn't quite fit over my regulare glasses. But that's nothing to bitch about, I still enjoyed it.

I don't think Optimus was talking about Sam when he said "I'm Coming for you." I think it's more likely he was talking about whatever that beasty was(Does it even have a name?) As for not pulling that bomb out, Starscream's hands wheren't exactly made for doing anything delicate. Also have you ever had to try to get a splinter that's deeply imbeded in your skin useing just your hands?

YOu mean to tell me you like how Ironhide was handled? Are you fucking kidding me, or are you just another one of them brown nosers!

It doesn't take a rocket scientist or scholar to know that Ironhide was fucking pissed on in this movie!

It many ways it was realistic. Not every warrior has a heroic death, in many cases they are killed in a cowardly way.

I don't mind how he was killed, what I don't like, after that, next scene should have been how it was in ROTF, Sam and party were a little stunned. Especially from Lennox, who was good friends with Ironhide. Instead, we get some bullshit comedy that completely derailed all emotions. And then, throughout the whole movie, he wasn't mentioned again. Would it kill anybody for maybe Optimus, at the very end, maybe show that he will miss Ironhide, like he did for Jazz????? Unless, Ironhide really isn't dead. Then, maybe I'll come back here in 3 to 5 years and be like, thank God that's why there was no mourning, because he never really died.
