Plot holes that still exist or things that make no sense


1. Remaining decepticons around the world

Not exactly a plot hole, can use this for a 4th film. Decepticons go back into hiding after this crushing defeat

2. Optimus said the matrix can bring life back to the autobots if they die. But did not use it on ironhide or care about it.

Ironhide was never able to be revived, to fizzled away and his head fell off

3. If only optimus can reactivate sentinel prime, how did megatron make the deal with sentinel. on cybertron?

Megatron, Optimus and Sentinel were all close before the war began but how a deal was struck who knows..

4. Bumblebee STILL can't speak after being on earth for years. How does this make any sense? I was really really hoping bumblebee could pull his voice out for his goodbye to sam when boarding the spaceship to leave earth

I personally felt that the radio usage was best for Bumblebee, its in his character in all the films. it also makes him unique.

5. How was sentinel a firetruck before he has ever seen earth? also didn't make sense

like i said in another thread called Q&A, i dont think he did because the ship didnt explode or seem to get damaged, it just belly flopped into the water.

7. Megatron was still injured from optimus battle years back, (college was over, so atleast 2-4 years) and he still isn't repaired or weak. Does this mean optimus will never have his arm back?

Optimus will have his arm back imo, the same way Bumblebee had his legs blown off in TF1. Megatton probably left his as a reminder of what Optimus did to him, prob to motivate him the next time they met.

I actually forgot about the Quintessons. An entirely new alien race/threat would be a good way of raising the stakes, if they went down that path.

I'm in so much awe from this movie right now I don't even know how to write a review. So I'll just sum up all of my thoughts together in one sentence:

I saw the movie last night. Loved it. My jaw hit the ground when they killed off Ironhide (fast acting cosmic rust.. ouch), and I stopped breathing when Bumblebee was up for execution. Great movie! I do hope there's more scenes in the dvd release. Can't wait to see what (non-TF franchise) movie Bay's cooking up next!

I wonder if they burned too many of their bridges by killing off all the major villains. (Even Starscream gets axed!) I don't think there's anyone LEFT to use for Part 4, besides Unicron.

He was in a scene where he was prepping something beside optimus. i think the ship to leave earth. he was all blue, had his jolter things from TF2. same body everything. then u never saw him again

Just saw DOTM for the first time tonight and absolutely loved it.I hope Michael Bay continues with the Transformers franchise, I think he is the only director that could make this particular movie work as brilliantly as it does.Thankyou Michael I will certainly see this again.

If you weren't listening:

Megatron said sentinel was on his way to meet with megatron on earth, but faith betrayed them both.
-Megatron didn't plan to get frozen in the artic
-Sentinel didn't plan to get shot and crash
-BTW the crash in the artic, and the cybertron fight we saw were centuries ago, the ark was then on drift until the crash on the moon!!! That's why sentinel's energon was depleted.
-And megatron couldn't reactivate him because he never really had the cube or the matrix.

They made the deal before megatron went on a Cube's search

If you pay attention to the colors, you'll see that they're not exactly the same before he's reactivated, and after. His body looks almost the same but not really. He has no wheels for example.

Optimus has the Matrix... Megatron didnt have it, and probably didn't have his shard anymore.

For what it is, 7.5 out of 10 sir. The rating will possibly go a little higher when I see it again. My wife and I had some problems, Some idiot brought a 10 month old and sat right next to us, very distracting to the point of missing a few things. This is not Bay's fault mind you and why I say it will go up.

Only thing I have to say negative was although 80% of the 3D was great, There were a few parts in there that actually started to hurt my eyes, Could be my theater or a production problem, I do not know. Definitely worth seeing in 3D though.

Bravo to you with the mis information campaign and plot twist. Make everyone think Shockwave was the villain but actually it was Sentinel.

Action and fight scenes were off the chart. Great job making this about the Autobots and Decepticons fighting, Not the military saving the day although they stepped it up a bit when needed. This is coming from a Navy Veteran. I pay to see big robots clashing, not what I can tune into on the Military channel.

All in all, Bravo sir. Enjoy some well earned time off.

I was talking about the body shots. She is attractive but for me when she is filmed at the wrong angle she has the upper lip of a Beluga Whale and that does not do it for me. But seeing her backside in 3D was outstanding.

the vibe i got from Shockwave was that of Pyramid head in Silent Hill and the Executioner is Resident Evil

but Sentinel Prime was the main baddie, Shockwave as the main villian must have been a mis-information campaign by Michael and his crew
