Best Batman movie I have ever seen. Period.

It really sucks what happened in Colorado. My thoughts and condolences goes out to the victims and their families.

On a side note, I did get to see the MoS teaser. No green screen before it, as if it was part of TDKR. It was much shorter than the SDCC version, but still glorious.

Got the MoS trailer. Easily this is 5 stars, a total pleasure to watch, and I think we finally have a movie with an hour that can challenge that of DOTMs.

Bane was also very easy to understand.

Terrible at what happened in colorodo but the bastard will fry for this.Anyway, the movie kicked some serious ass and DC knows how to do some cool movies as Nolan's trilogy is the best one they did. Bane was as cool as he is in the comics and animated series only more serious.Who else thought Catwoman was hot in this movie?

That's good to hear about Bane. I made time to see it on Wednesday, I'll have to try hard not to spoil the ending for myself in the meantime.

    MoS trailer looks fantastic.

I liked the scores for the last two Batman movies, but in my opinion the new one is a major disappointment.

oh thank god i am not the only one with that opinion. All my friends really liked it. But i liked the other two better. Especially batman begins because that was original. TDK OST was pretty much same thing with some modification.

I'm not too sure what you all saw that made you think TDKR was so epic. I saw it, liked some things, but came out thinking that this was one stupid ass movie. I'll take The Avengers any day over this. Only other movie I'm pretty sure I'm going to love even more will be The Hobbit.

Nolan's rendition of this super hero is too complex for your simple mind. I have never been more satisfied with an ending of a trilogy as I was with TDKR.

Purely great CINEMA. A art that has been lost in recent times with gimmicks, tricks and glitter to pull people in.

Okay, I'm not sure if this was an intentional homage or completely accidental, but after watching the 3rd act of TDKR, I can't help but be reminded by this (in)famous scene from the 60's Batman movie...

i watched it a 2nd time today, when you know what you know from the 1st viewing, you look at it differently the second time, you notice things that you wouldn't pick up the 1st time..

my whole family loved the movie, my dad watched it twice with me, wife watched it once but wants to watch it again. i'll just wait for the blu ray trilogy set tho.

Saw it last night. A very good movie and a great ending to a great trilogy.
The Story. A very good story, but Nolan slows down the movie a bit too long in the middle for my taste and there are a couple scenes that could have been cut down or cut off completely. But the movie never gets boring even when it's 2h 45min long and what an ending is all I can say.
Actors. First, Anne Hathaway. She does a very good Selina Kyle. Notice, I don't call her that other name and there's a very simple reason for that. She's never called that in the movie.
Tom Hardy. Plays a psychotic mad man and does it good.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Plays a young cop and does it very good. I have a feeling that Gordon-Levitt will be the go to guy for many years to come for Nolan, just like DiCaprio is for Scorsese.
Michael Caine. Caine IS Alfred! Will there ever be a better Alfred if Batman is someday rebooted? No, there won't.
Christian Bale. He does exactly what the movie is called. He truly rises back up after being totally broken down.
So how good is the movie? Is it as good as Nolan's Inception? No, it's not.
Therefore I'll rate it 4 out of 5 points.
Now the only question is that if Warner Bros wants someday to reboot Batman and start all over again, will the rebooted movies be better that Nolan's trilogy?
The answer is simple. No, they won't...

Saw it yesterday. Not as great as The Dark Knight. It has quite good elements, but not a masterpiece.

76 percent drop at the box office, "Oscar" voters hate it, Dane Cook calls it "a piece of crap'...

    This movie is a failure.

Kidding aside, I saw the movie the other day and, as I expected, I fully enjoyed it. It was a great summer action film and as far as I'm concerned it's way better than "The Amazing Spider-Man". Don't think I'll be able to see it again in the theater, but I'll certainly watch it when it hits on DVD and Blu-ray.

Just watched. Enjoyed it, but enjoyed The Dark Knight a lot more.

Still a good movie, just not the best one in the series.

deh-shay, deh-shay, bah sah rah, bah sah rah.

That's what I was hearing in my head as I left the theater. A very enjoyable film. I have more to say but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who has yet to see the movie.

In case any of you are wondering, he says this as part of a joke about the Aurora Theater shooting. Yeah, "too soon" doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. I mean...really, Dane? I actually liked the guy, believe it or not! (please don't burn me at the stake, it was just a phase during high school.) But really? Just to express your opinion of TDKR? I am disappoint.

Finally watched the movie. Thank you Christopher Nolan for making one of the best trilogies ever. Still I think Nolan raised the bar too high with The Dark Knight and Inception and the third movie just couldn't surpass that. Still it was very emotional for me and I loved it. They just nailed the music with some of the climax scenes that gave me several times the goosebumps. I really liked Anne Hathaway's and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's characters. It's really hard to make an impression with only your eyes visible and I don't think Bane was that memorable.
I can't wait to see Nolan's next project. The bar is indeed very high now!

    SPOILERS

I still haven't read any discussions about the movie but was I the only one who expected to see the Joker in this one too? He didn't die at the end of The Dark Knight. I was expecting a short cameo at least. Also why they continue to use the Scarecrow for only a single scene as was in The Dark Knight? Really pointless.

    SPOILERS
I look at him as the "recurring thorn in Batman's side" in the Nolan-verse. A minor villain, but always tends to show up every now and then, but is easily put away.

As for the Joker, it's been eight years since the events in The Dark Knight. We really don't know for sure what has happened in between both movies. My guess is that he's still locked up at Arkham Asylum.

Of course, the real reason for his absence is most likely out of respect for Heath Ledger.

Very good guess! Here is what The Dark Knight Rises novel says:

Now that the Dent Act had made it all but impossible for the city’s criminals to cop an insanity plea, it (Blackgate Prison) had replaced Arkham Asylum as a preferred location for imprisoning both convicted and suspected felons. The worst of the worst were sent here, except for the Joker, who, rumor had it, was locked away as Arkham’s sole remaining inmate. Or perhaps he had escaped. Nobody was really sure. Not even Selina.
