Question The D-Box treatment for TF:DOTM

    Hey guys!

Please vote YES if you want TF: DOTM to have the D-Box technology and to receive the D-Box technology on the TF: DOTM Blu-ray just like Armageddon did and now Paramount's first film to have the D-Box experience 'Super 8!'

    Vote YES for having...

*DOTM playing in D-Box supported theaters.

    and

    *D-Box on the DOTM Blu-ray.

    D-Box:

If your in a total dark room and your totally focused on the movie you'll get passed the idea that your seat is moving and it will become second nature to people, i think. (havent experienced it yet but i did in some Parks in the US and EU)

I've been on something similar, and it was pretty cool, but I couldn't do it for the whole film, only a short one really

I don't think I'd ever be able to afford D-Box (at home).
I don't even think there's any D-Box cinemas here in Canada (don't quote me on that).
I remember when I went go watch Priest, the seats were supposed to do something similar to D-Box, but ultimately, it never worked.
The signs said "caution" when we entered the theaters.
"These seats may move sporadically and unexpectedly, please keep an eye on your food and drinks at all times".
Was fail though. Still enjoyed the movie, nevertheless.

It's not the first time theaters have not lived up to expectations, and I kind of just go to see the movies now.

So that SRP-10 motion platform is for that theatre use or is it for home use? If it's for home use, do you use your own chair or does it come with the chair?

    You mean the d-box SRP-120?
You can buy a seat mount for your own chair or sofa but it has limits see here:

People's experience with the D-Box motion seats:

    HP: half blood

    Watch at 1:15 for reactions.

    Terminator Salvation

Watch at 0:40 and at 1:26 for reactions.

    2012

    Watch at 1:06 for reactions.

    HP: deathly hallows part 1

    Watch at 0:55 for reactions.

    Tron

    Watch at 0:48 for reactions.

Of Course these are all positive reactions, i also hope no one got payed for saying these things i think they all told the truth, i did leave one reaction clip out because i thought some people were exaggerated a little bit.

The real down side to this will be the price of the ticket. As it is, IMAX 3D tickets are $15 a person where i live. I can see this jumping ticket prices to over $20. No thanks.

If they raise the price of the tickets then they are doing a poor job at trying to get people back to the theatres...

The chairs look something used in amusement parks like Disney Land or something like that.
We don't have anything like that in our movie theaters in Sweden.
I don't think a lot of people are going to buy these to their homes, when taking the fact in hand, that like around 95-99% of people have their home theater system in their living room.
I just can't see the case that people would throw out their comfy sofas and buy these chairs instead.
Personally I don't care if the DOTM blu-ray gets D-Box treatment or not.
All I want is it to get the 7.1 DTS-HD Master audio surround sound and I'm happy with that.
I don't have a 3D TV or a 3D blu-ray player, so when DOTM is released on blu-ray, then it will be the first time I'm gonna watch it in 2D on my 46" LED-TV and my 7.1 surround system...

They are indeed based on the 3-4D seats in amusement parks.
And you dont have to buy the whole chair or sofa you can buy a mount for your own sofa or chair but there are limits to it.

    Watch:

Your able to use these mount for your own sofa or chairs.

If this technology was more widely available and more affordable, I would buy it.
Die Hard With A Vengeance on blu-ray has D-Box. I had no idea what that meant at first then started looking at the website and youtube videos.
But I don't feel like leaving my igloo to try it out :head

I have send an email to my cinema regarding this technology as a suggestion for them to get this in the cinema rooms, we'll see if they do this.. i have no idea if they will.
