As for the new names, Awesome!!! I couldn't describe the persona of Wh__lj__k better then "Q". A master of gadgetry and inventions. It would be awesome if John Cleese would voice the character.

This is what Mr. Idle had to say about the experience:

Transformers: The Movie was a fabulous gig where they flew me on the Concorde to New York for a day's tape recording, and then flew me back. That "they" is Wally Burr, who was notorious for making voice actors "parrot" the lines back to him as well as keeping them there for the maximum 8 hours.

lol thank you for the great laugh i have had reading both this and the ferrari post some people are just never satisfied

1. as previously stated by Nelson Michael has a great rappor with farrari having used them in previous films so its clear to me he has named the farrari in homage to the company and its founder. Its a name its not G1 there is nowhere where it is said that you MUST use a transformer name and its also bayformers so it is open to anything.

2. "Q" is a great name for what may have been wheeljack it links with james bond nicely as it is Q that has created steath force and watching stealth force on bee it is almost like a james bond cars weapons that reveal themselves and also in goldeneye? BMW were the bond cars used instead of aston's

I mean really you need to look deeper into things than just dismissing something as crap until you think about it and actually see the film. This is going to be the best popcorn movie of the year and I will throughly enjoy it no matter any different names.

I agree, Bond fans will get it immediately. I'd like to have seen Wheeljack, but this isn't G1 and we don't have to have Wheeljack.

Again, I just don't like the name as it reminds me to much of James Bond films.

@ Nelson. I can understand the Ferrari's name being changed in the movie from Mirage to another name because of the licensing issues as even in the book Mirage was called a red Italian sports car and not a Ferrari in name. But is there a similar licensing issue now with Mercedes? The reason I ask is because in the book, Wheeljack is named as the Mercedes, not as a blue German luxury car. So while I can see Mirage having a different name as in a nickname in the movie but in all reason, still being Mirage, I still feel that Wheeljack will be Wheeljack in the movie and not Que.
