It means nothing if he's called Mirage in the comics and books. Also, about the Italian name. I don't see why they can't switched back to the name "Enzo" when they were shuffling through the names for him. I must say, that actually sounds like a cool name for a robot. It's a nice departure from the typical being named after a random object.

Also, the names are really only designations for these bots. ("My first lieutenant, designation: Jazz.") Probably because Jazz's real name would be something like *N&^B&*^$*%^V$%^&%V&^, AKA, unpronounceable to humans. Same thing goes for Ferraribot (that's what I call him now), "Enzo" would be his designation (IF that's true of course), for his real name is $@@X%#T#T%CEHGDGHSGFXWRT. :lmao

So there you have it, the Ferrari's true name is a bunch of incomprehensible gibberish, because he's an alien from another planet who's first language is an incomprehensible alien language. The debate is over, I win.

As an Italian citizen, i'm not too comfortable with the whole idea of a Transformers with an Italian name and accent. I'm afraid it will end in a stereotypical racist character just like the Twins.

As a Transformers fan, i can't help but remember that a character with an Italian name already existed, altough it was one of the most obscure Transformers ever made: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Rapido.

Because then the tie the franchise had with already established characters from Hasbro would be broken ?

I know Bay has his own agenda and is creating a new story line here from the past shows, comics, ect ect (as if the transformers story hasn't been alterered enough with so many evolutions) There's a point where you have to please both the older fans of the series and the newer fans. You would think he could accomplish that by keeping the name Mirage, becuase that's what Mirage is-- "Mirage is one of the single most re-used names in the Transformers series, and is almost entirely synonymous with characters possessing Formula One racing car alternate modes. Mirage has the ability to create illusions which typically either render him invisible or make him appear to be somewhere he isn't."
