I wish that was the price for all IMAX's. The LIeMAX by my house charges 19.50 for 3D movies, and it's not even a real IMAX.

This is so funny because I just has a conversation with a friend at the mall yesterday afternoon about this. She works at the arcade right next to the movie theater and she told me she heard a rumor going around that they wanna put an IMAX screen in our cineplex. I was like, "how are they gonna do that?!" There's no room for a real one so the only way they could do it was to retrofit one of their current screening rooms into a "lie-MAX" one.

I mean, I guess a retrofit IMAX like that is better than a regular screen, but it's still a ripoff to be charging those the same amount they charge for the real deal.

I am so happy right now! A two weeks ago, I checked the website for Pacific Science Center's IMAX theater and the only showing that was coming soon was Harry Potter 7 Pt. 2 so I contacted them and asked if DOTM was showing there too as they did for ROTF. They replied and said they had no idea which really bummed be out but today they emailed me back and said that they will be showing DOTM, Super 8, and HP7! This made my day as it is the biggest IMAX screen in Seattle. Just need to wait for tix to go on sale!

    Default Your IMAX statistics.

I just want to know, what's the size of the IMAX screen you all plan to go to, and what's the maximum capacity for your chosen theater? I just want to know how my stacks up.

Well the Boeing IMAX theater that I'm going to is 6 stories high (60 feet) and 80 feet wide. It's pretty big. The sound is insane!

Yeah, that's what the one I am going to is. 15000 watt digital sound too. 300 people max. There's one closer to me, but the screen is so small, I have my doubts at it being a legit IMAX.

I'm just wondering, should I bring tissues? You know, this could go either Armageddon way, or E.T. way, and well, I cried in both.

Yep, that's what the site says. http://www.mods.org/IMAX/index.html
That theater is like an hour's highway drive for me. There's one closer, but like I said, the IMAX in that one is small. Funny thing, one of their regular screen auditoriums can hold like 500 people.

Don't worry bub, I'm in the same boat. I keep calling, and they keep saying they'll be available next week. I've been calling 3 weeks in a row now. The 29th and 30th of June are available, but not the 1st and after. I plan on going on the 2nd.
