Depends on the theater. I signed up for an email alert from Fandango.com once the closest imax has them for sale.

I've actually 'tracked' the days that my theatre sells advanced tickets.

They sold tickets for Pirates and The Hangover II eleven days ahead, and most others average to around two weeks. I assume that I'll be able to pick up my tickets around the third week of June.

The place I want to go won't be selling tickets until like 2 weeks, and I got to go and drive there to get them. It's the big IMAX down in FT Lauderdale, the one with the museum.

Got my IMAX3D tickets yesterday. Never been to a 3D IMAX movie so I was a bit surprised at the price.

Now I just need to bug my local theater enough to get them to put the midnight show on sale.

Is it an actual IMAX theater or one of those phony circumsized ones?

This might deserve it's own thread.

Was the price high because Imax is expensive than regular Real 3D movies.

Yea. Got tickets for Friday 7/1 in Denver(I live about 2 hours away). Got a nice hotel booked for Friday night, just need to figure out where to get a good steak.

I'll see the midnight show locally.

I'm just used to the usual $6.50 ticket price in my little town.

3D is generally higher than regular, and IMAX is generally higher than regular. Put those together and you can easily be spending $15 a ticket. At least where I'm at.

$17 for each ticket, and $2 per ticket for Fandango's surcharge.

My wife, a friend, and myself cost $57.

Then add in gas, the hotel, and your delicious steak , that's quite a bit to shell out for Transformers, but hey.....it'll so be worth it!
