Does he die??? (spoilers)

I did some research on Sentinel and Optimus Prime. I know, Michael Bay sometimes uses some plots and ideas from the G1 series and other series's. I did some research and it said Sentinel Prime dies in a battle and gives the Matrix of Leadership to Optimus. The Matrix was in the second one, so it's not gonna be here. Now I only have two questions.

1. Does the Matrix of Leadership come back, because there was no proof that it got destroyed when Optimus shot it, it could of just flew out and survived.

2. Does Sentinel actually die? Some pictures I found of the comics show him dying in Optimus's arms. I hope he doesn't die.

(This is a theory, possible SPOILER)

What if the following happened after the second movie, and before the third.
Sentinel Comes down to earth and lands in Egypt and finds the Matrix.
I guess that will explain how the Matrix might be in the third.
They might even show this in the third movie as a flashback or so.

Because Optimus was yet again revived by the matrix, which is when Fallen rest just an empty shell with some energy from Optimus has taken and the actual matrix in Optimus puts his Spark.

But got another question, where is your to see the man dies the Sentinel? I've got all the Transformers series, including comics, but I have never seen anything of Sentinel his death.

In "The War Within" and "Megatron:Origin", it's stated that "Sentinel Prime is dead".
