I just don't like ipods. i never once had one. I started off with creative zen 30 gb. which played fucking video file i downloaded cept for divx. there new one actually is compatible with it now the only reason i didnt get it this time is that they turned it into a flashed based device and the 30 gb player was 100 dollars more than my 80 gig zune. Plus i still have the video converter that came with the zen so converting files wasnt an issue anymore.

my zune i love but if creative came out with a player with a better batttery life and screen as big as the zune with a price that matched i would be all over it.

The iPod, in terms of the quality of experience, availability of OS platform, and design surpasses everything and anything in the market.

LMAO I used one for a week a friend of mine let me use hers. It was decent but, for me the new zune trumps it. the ipods earphones are crap the Zune 2 earphones are much better. the first zune was crap but, only people who don't buy electronics buy a new product when it first comes out. if it wasn't for microsoft working on the dreamcast i would have never had bought an xbox when it first came out.

I'll never take anything else then an iPod as for music player. Had mini, nano and now video, there are just great.

Never tried a Zune, did try a creative, but didn't like that one.

Does the Zune have gapless? That is my primary concern with a music player. That and being able to buy one in the country I live in (Australia).

Unfortunately the zune doesn't meet either of those criteria.

I hate itunes, and think Apple are a despicable company (the hardware monopoly is pathetic, especially now when they are intel based, but you have to run the OS on their boxes only). But I still have an ipod, my wife does, and I use it every day. I shopped around long and hard for alternatives, but there wasn't any

Okay, I haven't had any other gadget other than my ipod (Gilgamesh) and I love him, so I guess I'm bias...

Ipod suits me just fine. I'm curious about the Zune2 but not enough to switch. I'm used to the ease of the Ipod. Importing my discs, dragging and dropping music is all I'm interested in. No video, no file format juggling. I'm not an Ipod bandwagon jumper and I still don't get the whole "sucking" part. Sound quality in headphones is negligible to me because I don't use it for that.

The Ipod touch is slick (needs more storage space though) and I think will be making that my next one.

Yeah, the Touch actually has a good interface and sadly lacks in storage. I really hate, actually loathe the old ipod interface (a crappy 1980s look GUI) and scroll wheel. The touch actually has a good interface - and decent sized album art. I'd get one if they had 80 or 160GB hard drives in them... 16GB though is a laugh.
