That, or he isn't in vehicle form long enough for them to have needed an actual SUV and decided to go all CG.

Well at least we know now that art least in the game he is an SUV and will be larger than he could have been if he had been the SLS Gulwing. With that now known, its probably just an in game design for him and he will probably take on a new look for the movie.

If Soundwave keeps the SUV look and it carries over to DOTM the movie, Id be happy with that as his first concepts for ROTF were him as a Chevy Truck and in the first draft of the script, Soundwave as a Chevy truck was Ehran Kruger's idea. Now that he is the only writer, there is a better chance that Idea or a form of the ROTF Soundwave concept could carry over to DOTM.

I like the SUV idea, I thought the art for Rotf was great so I wouldnt mind. He could always change into something else also. How they talked about Megs finding his new form Soundwave could change also.....Giant Drillbot maybe?

Yeah it does, but that´s a recon vehicle and I think it would fit him better than a SUV... or a Mercedes. Soundwave as a sports car? I don´t know... I just don´t know.
