most of his reviews on Michael's movies are very unfair.
he is the reason why I hate critics.
he loves "werner herzog(correct spelling?) david lynch.bernardo bertollucci....
he just give them 4 stars no matter how crappy their movies are...

He did gave Lynch's Elephant Man, Lost Highway and Muholland Drive good reviews while Blue Velvet and Dune bad reviews, i thought both BV and Dune were good even if Dune was bad as an adaptation of Frank Herbert's brilliant Sci-fi novel but good as it's own movie and the mini-series with's sequels were quite good. He quoted on 1984's "Dune" with one star "This movie is a real mess! an ugly structure into one of the murkier realms of the one of the most confusing screenplays of all time". I have to disagree that Dune is quite a good Sci-fi movie despite not being faithful and kind of butchers the novel but if you read the book then you'll understand more even if the mini-series which was more true to the books and more accurate page-by-page even if it is an unfilmable novel.

Ebert did gave Transformers 1 about 3 stars while TF2 1. You shouldn't listen to critics sometimes. Ebert did trashed one of my favorite movies known as John Carpenter's The Thing which he claimed "It's a great barf-bag of a movie that plays on cheap shocks than scares" as i have to disagree.

I don't think he exactly hates pop corn flicks. Believe it or not he gave a thumbs up to Lara Croft Tomb Raider and the sequel,The Cradle of Life.

Roger Ebert is a windbag. His reviews seem to be based on what would bring him the most attention and what makes him look the smartest at the time he writes them. Also, he often doesnt even know what hes talking about. He is noone worth listening to.

I don't want Ebert to die. He's okay with me on occasion. It's Travers that needs to be vaporized. He's too biased. He's never given any of Mr. Bay's films a chance after Armageddon.

And besides, we're standing up for great films. If there's a fan base for those horrible Friedberg/Seltzer productions, they're just simply wrong. Those are the only movies that actually deserve all the hate they get. All other films in history are up to opinion. (And, yes, I'm serious.)

Like any Film critic Ebert is one voice, well not so much now because he can`t talk but you know what I`m talking about. And nobody likes the same stuff. He may like a movie that you may hate with a passion and vice versa. Enough people like a movie, it does well regardless of what Ebert or any other critic says or writes.

(oh btw, speaking of your vid, I wanna make note that Ebert's star rating system only goes up to four stars. So when he gave Toy Story 3 three stars, that means he gave it a 75% rating, which is...the same he gave to the first Transformers.)

I have a problem with ebert because he is too personal when he talks about mr bay. I read his book. can't remember the name. it was 2010 movie blahblah. and he criticized mr bay "personally" and he said (I can't believe how he could say this considering he is a critic) "if you like michael bay's movie, then you don't know how to watch a movie, if you think michael bay's movie, you are wrong. yes. he actually said " if you think michael bay's movie is good, you are wrong" how the 0000 can he say that? here is a link to that journal http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2009..._brainiac.html


what really sent me off the edge was this remark "So let's focus on those who seriously believe "Transformers" is one of the year's best films. Are these people wrong? Yes. They are wrong."

I hate critics because they like Werner Herzog for a very laughble reason. I once saw aguirre wrath of god with my friend. after watching that, I appologized to my friend. and I mean it. god how I hate critics! I mean its is okay if he likes herzog. what I don't like it that him liking herzog doesn't give him the right to insult people who hate herzog.

personally, I think he learned some lesson from his jaw cancer. that "watch your god0000 mouth"

I can never speak for others, but I don't think any directors would be too thrilled about their fans wishing someone death, illness or a tough time. Cancer is a serious disease and it has nothing to do with affected individuals' words and deeds.

Critics criticize for a living. Some may be harsh, some may be acid. But it's just that some of movies by MB weren't a cup of Ebert's tea, just as some of reviews by Ebert aren't our cups of tea, either. Also, some directors love to listen negative feedbacks because it motivates them to make even better movies.

Let's love movies we like, rather than hate haters.
