I hope S4TE members from NZ, their friends and families are OK, and hope that sufferers will be rescued as soon as possible.
pfft BGim merely posting my observations.
I hope the majority in the middle east get what they want!
what do u mean by that CB?
It's true and your both right... the number and severity of extreme weather events are increasing and so is the media coverage.
My personal opinion is (and you're welcome to dispute it as much as you want) is that the media (which is controlled by the military industrial complex) is slowly conditioning the public to accept what is happening on a global scale to prepare us for a bigger issue... for example the whole 2012 end of world nonsense. It's proven to be unprecedented universal phenomenon like planetary alignment, pole reversal, solar storms, gamma ray burst's etc and the big very controversial subject of alien contact. 2012 has been hyped up to mean the end of the world, where in fact it's really just the start of a new age - a new way of living and thinking, the transitional period may take a few years but it's already started.
I'm from NZ and I spent a week in Christchurch visiting family and friends before moving to Australia, I'm happy to say that they're all ok (including old colleagues from all of our Christchurch offices). I'm not sure if you are aware but CHCH airport is also a US military base and the closest port to Antarctica, yesterday was a dark day for Kiwi's all over the world.
Thanks for all the love and support for NZ S4TE'ers!

i hope it isnt too bad!
its not like the thing is gonna go sky high..............
right?
Now I'm stuck in a train with a lot of commuters due to suspension and delay of train service. We just felt another aftershock on the platform but everyone here seems to have strong willingness to go to work. It's great to see people keeping the work ethic and the spirit of cooperation high even in a time of emergency.
Many of us now have a phone app that detects the primal wave of earthquake and notifies it. So, even in such a packed train, some can tell others that "Brace youself, it's coming" before impact.
Tay, PM me if you have any further info of your roommate (e.g. full name, age and where she came from) to find out if she's okay.
Now Apple is providing those apps for free. How nice of them.Originally Posted by TIMtationX
Sadly, another explosion just happend in #3 unit. The container of the reactor is okay and the inner pressure is stably under control. What they have to do now is to patiently keep cooling it down.
btw, I'm so so sorry I haven't replied sooner to this thread. This is terrible tragedy and I absolutely hope the best for Japan. So glad to see you're fine, Sora.

In my town, shelves in stores are half empty. Bread, rice, eggs, milk, tofu, snacks, kleenex, maglites, batteries, rechargers, radio and stoves have been all out of stock (even in online stores, too). My friend over another board reported that Burger King is out of frenchfries. This is not as a big deal as the damage of devastated area at all, but food/supplies shortage, traffic/logistics disruption and blackout going on here slowly let people's feelings down.
Hope he's okay.. shall I tweet to find him?
Thank you.

Plutonium 238, 239, 240 are detected at Fukushima Daiichi plant, Japan. (Sorry for posting trivial matters that aren't of general interest. I guess I gotta stop.)
They are of interest....
