It's the law part that bugs me.If you go into a bank and forget to take off your hat,should you be arrested for attempted bank robbery on the spot?Come on, I dont even drive often.I confine myself to home.I hate people.They have a shitty attitude towards life.Some occasions I'm approached by people who make negative comments about the car.I listen.No responses.Because I took it upon myself to do this,I must accept the negatives with the positives.Comments that is.....I listen with no response, because of freedom of opinion.I too use my freedom of expression for that reason.I served for my freedoms too, you know?I can see your point.There actually are people that do the I'm a vet story.I've picked them up hitch hiking before my mustang.They don't know unit or company names when you ask,"Who did you serve with?"When they have no response.I feel bad for them instead of angry.To stoop that low?I seen on a series about airports where a man prtrended to be a disabled vet going home from Afghanistan.Just to catch an earlier flight,because the one he was to board was delayed.They busted him by calling his home and thanking the parents when he asked to use a phone.The parents were surprised to hear the news and told the man that, his parents said he hurt his hand with a hammer accident and he never served any military.I woulda beat his ass.If any time the state police see or hear me saying," I'm a state police officer." then they can be pissed too.And have me put in prison for impersonating.Ain't gonna happen...I did it for me and my son.Not them.Not anyone else.....I don't want to be a cop.I am BARRICADE!!! The City police has no problems with me,The Sheriffs office have no problems with me,it is the State Police that are pushing the issue.If the agencies had a problem with this,they would have cited me too.When I went to the Prosecuting D.A.'s Office,I pretty much told them Of my intentions and actions.I didn't do this without anyones knowing.I went to the ones we need to ask about local and state laws.That is what they are there for.I called the State police....no call back.I called the Sheriffs office.....no call back.The ones that called and stated that they didn't agree with the act but found this within the laws.....the City police.What have I done the State hasn't done?They auction these cars off as is.Minus decals/sirens/lights.Thats it.Vomit in the back seat included.I could see if I had this record of law criminal complaints because of this.We shall see in court.If this were wrong,I would stop.Saleen is selling a faster more police looking car.I am a fan...man.Having fun.Wait till I get a Bumblebee.Then my point will surely be made.

You know for a fact it is not against the law to make your car look like an emergency vehicle and in this case a police car? The cities are smaller and they are fine with it but a state agency like you pointed out are giving you a hard time like I said they would. In most cases and I just talked to a buddy of mine who is in law enforcement. He said that impersonating is as simple as getting behind the wheel of a car that looks like a cop car. your not a police officer yet you drive a car that looks like a police car. Thats the rules up here. I am just playing devils advocate here. If I saw that car comming down the street..I would think its a cop car..and many would. That is what I think the state police are complaining about. What color is the state police cars in your state? What color lights? If any part of the state police in your state have black, white, red or blue and say police.any one of combo of those...its hard to say its not???
Really man I respect that you did all this and the car has turned out the way you wanted it. But the idea you have and the reason emergency vehicles are given that look are for a reason. Your driving around with a big kick me sign on your car if you think about it.
The D.A.R.E. cars you do not have to be so involved. Check into it and you dont have to go to all functions or events. Just some car shows and or events. No parades or anything. And you get certified of something to show an officer the cars a D.A.R.E. participant and made up for that reason. And I think that would take alot of heat off you.

All I can say is this..dont be surprised if your in the legal right to do what you have done to your car. But they might had down a moral judgement of removing the marking out of saftey considerations to the people of the state.
Just because legally you can do it does not make it right. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...its a duck..your car looks like a police car and it says police on your car...your cars a police car..and the other thing is it does not matter if 600HP Saleens are built or how many are sold to snooty rich people thats not the case and really has no bearing to what you have.

Good luck though man..it will be a hard battle if fought uphill. but take it to the friendly road first..then if make sure you can do this..and by the book.

I said it to him before the car even got this far along. Not as long explaining as this but like I said I like what he did and it turned out great.
And like I said man I think hes a great guy for what I know of him on the board. And sounds like a good family man.
Thats why I am trying to point him in a possible direction to resolve some of these issues. His long posts about legal rights, colors and what not about people dressing up for Halloween and stuff have no bearing in a case against this. LIke I said it could be legal to do so but the courts might find it a moral issue for the saftey of the state he lives in. Everything on that car makes it look like an emergency vehicle (cop car). 9.9% out of 10 people would think it was a police car going down the streets. The other about the colors. All it hasto have is one of the colors identifying the emergency vehicle of that state. It sure does. Weather the lights work or not is irrelivant. They look like a light bar for a police car. The cars made up to be a police car. And sure like Halloween people dress up for it. But only in one month October. Its more expected. But the other 11 months? This car gets scene out and about the rest of the year. And for more of the point since the pros and cons are being debated outside the issue. Someone holds up a store with a gun. Turns out its a toy plastic gun. He still gets charged with using a gun even though it is a toy it was used in the act as a real gun he gets charged with posesion of a firearm to comit a crime.
The car going down the street looking like a police car has the same effect as a real police car. And to make matters worse its not like a made up Dukes of Hazzard old patrol car from the 70's this car is a newer Mustang that is in service in some local agencies. Making stand out as possibly a real cop car.

Funny you guys think this enough to tell Saleen to pull the plug on their 200 Extremes. I think that this may be a matter of legal or illegal.Bottom line.I guess that you have the impression that I have the police on the car all the time.They are magnets.Even if this was done permanently on the doors,it is not illegal.I will take your comments into consideration.Agreeing with your point of view is more a right and wrong issue than about legal or illegal.You asked a police officer friend his opinion.I asked the D.A.'s office.I could see this issue getting stupid.I could just give up.That would be admitting guilt.I fight this charge,and win.........I feel like I will have made a point.They will stop harassing.Then the problems will stop.There are many who do not agree with this.My family is involved in law enforcement as officers.They do not see anything illegal with what I'm doing.I want to do this for fanfare and for my own memorable family keepsake.I'm not gonna give up that easy.Money and energy were used in making this happen.Now, I gotta take all of it off?I appreciate the comments and concern.I'll handle it from here. whoa your flip side argument lost me,and is quite irrelevent. the law can't say making a car to look like a movie viechle is a moral issue.nor making it look like a cop car which it doesn't...I have never looked in my rearview saw a cop car with no computer and a big ass transformers 2009,let alone any decal, on it's front windshield.secondly, you say the car has the effect of a police car...How? what effect does he have on motorists,if he's not pulling them over or attempting to do so...woops I musta read things wrong becuase I don't agree at all, with almost everything you said.

I guess I can see your guys point.Please do not think this is done with intentions of making people angry.I did this for myself and my son.We cannot afford a Saleen Transformers Extreme.We cannot afford a Saleen.We cannot afford a GT.This car is a six cylinder base car.I see others with nicer cars than this.People put down the car for it not being a 'Saleen'.They put it down for not being a GT.They attempt this with their rude comments.I still intend on finishing this car.Ever since we have started this project.It has made this typical car special.The looks on peoples faces are priceless.The looks on the the childrens faces is priceless.With the help of the Transformers movie popularity around here,the car has drawn alot of attention from strangers.Those strangers tell me that this isn't something they see as illegal.Illegal to who? Cops and criminals.Illegal to cops because they dont like it.Not cause a crime is being commited.Illegal to criminals because they freak out.Maybe because they need to buckle?Maybe because they are drinking and driving?Maybe because they are speeding?They are selling cars like this legally through Saleen.Why can't I do this?People really have this issue twisted.Show me how this is disruptive and an inconvenience to the public and state police...No complaints.I seen a state police car today that was auctioned by the state,who in the state is going to jail for this crime?......nobody And Raddimus,You flipped on me like Starscream did Megatron.thanks pal
