Hey Everyone, I recently came across some information I find a little puzzling, and wanted to share:

Is there filming going in Cambodia next month?

Phnom Penh, January 21, 2011 AKP –
“Transformers 3 – Dark Side of the Moon” will be shot in Cambodia in February 2011 at the Angkor Temple Complex and Bokor Hill Station, according to Mr. Nicholas Simon, producer of Indochina Productions.

“Transformers 3” is the third part of the well-known science-fiction movie about TRANFORMER robots defending the earth.

“We want to shoot in Cambodia as it is one of the most beautiful countries around. With both Angkor Wat and Cambodia’s natural wonders, we will be able to maintain the large production scale of TRANFORMERS while giving the impression that the story is traveling all around the planet earth,” said Mr. Nicholas Simon in his letter addressed to Cambodian Minister of Information H.E. Khieu Kanharith.

This production will highlight the beauty the Angkor Temple Complex to a worldwide audience, he said, adding that it is estimated that over 500 million people have seen the previous two Transformers and with TRANFORMERS 3, millions more will discover the beautiful landscapes and cultural heritage of Cambodia.

Mr. Simon also recalled his good experiences in film production working in Cambodia on projects such as ORACLE, Matt Dillon’s CITY OF GHOSTS and Legendary Pictures’ I AM THAT MAN. –AKP

Although if you check websites like this, it does liste Cambodia, but then contradicts itself at the very end saying "Shooting locations listed on the site include Chicago and Los Angeles, though not Cambodia. ..."

until Bay or Nelson comes on and says its not true, lets just see what happens guys. Remember, there was rumor that some last minute filming may take place after the New Year some time in a few un-named countries. We know Bay wanted to film in Russia and a few other places and was not able to film in all the places on his list. This could be a late addition for something he had yet been able to film. So far almost all rumors that have come about have had some bit of truth to them so lets not write if off just yet. Nelson... can you help us out on this please?

Ummm, you think they would have already filmed in Russia? From my understanding, I remember reading something about how they're not suppose to actually tell if they filmed there or not due to security reasons or something like that.

Also... if for whatever reason Bay might have wanted to film in China and maybe was not able to, Cambodia would make for one good fill in for China.

Well seems legit to me although the terrible writing. It's not just one man spreading the news but several news sites. And why the news come now when we know that there will be some international filming going on.
If they really shoot at the Angkor Temple Complex, it would be awesome. This is even better than the Pyramids.

I thinks if it's true, it would be a second unit' works and there wouldn't be any actors involved. But then again, I'll wait for confirmation from Nelson. I don't recall Nelson said that the principal photography has finished.

I don't see any indication that this is TF3. By the way they film in Cambodia very often so this could be anything. Could be cool though.

Not saying this is or isn't DOTM shooting, but some thoughts I had were that it is not uncommon to do 2nd unit and pick-up shoots well after principle photography is done. We seem to know that Megatron will be hanging out in the jungle near the beginning of the movie, so maybe it was easier to film jungle stuff in Cambodia than actually in Africa since it seems they liked the look of the ruins that are there.

We see a camera moving all around, but no actors. So my guess is that they could be getting plate photography for CG Transformers to be added in.

Why February? Maybe it was a scheduling thing. Maybe it's better weather in February. It's all speculation at this point, but it seems these Transformers boards have gotten pretty jaded lately jumping on every piece of news as if it's false. Just because we don't see a confirmed detailed schedule of shooting doesn't mean they aren't still doing it. We just know they finished PRINCIPLE photography.

Looks like Sam and maybe Leo... if this is in fact DOTM footage. The reason I say Leo is because Simmons is taller tan Sam and Sam and Leo were about the same height in ROTF.

I don't know what are you looking at guys but there are no any actors on the video above. It's just an establishing shot and there are only crew members. If you refer to the guy at the end that looks like being filmed, this is the same guy who rotated the crane few second earlier.
And this whole crew look like Asians to me, but I may be wrong.

no... if you go over to TFW2005, they have other still pics posted with this video of what looks to be an inner city scene somewhere in Cambodia and it looks like Sam and maybe Leo in the pics and (IF) it is Leo, he looks to be holding Sam by one arm as Sam looks to be wanting to go after someone or some thing maybe?
