So I finally got to watch the full "Bizzarre Dinosaurs" documentary on NatGeo, where you get to hear Peter Cullen discuss how the strangest features and adaptations in certain dinosaurs are used for various things such as defense and to...eh hem...attract mates.

That's right, one third to a half of Optimus Prime's dialogue is related to dinosaur trying to get it on.
