Thread: Is Michael ever going to make that "small" film he's always been talking about?

I think this is more aimed at the insiders - nelson, and Bay himself if he has the time to read and respond to this.

But I've always wanted to see how Michael handles a small-budget film. He's been talking about one, or a few. I wonder if he still wants to?

    Any official news?

"Pain and Gain is right after shooting of Trans 3" - http://www.shootfortheedit.com/forum...-Official-2011

Keep in mind though, things can change. Maybe he'll go for "Bad Boys 3" or something completely different.

    Time will tell.

it all kinda depends. I'd like to see it, I'd also like a bad boys 3, or anything from bay.
I think bay will also have a hand in tf4 or the reboot. just thinking logically here. bay wouldn't leave his child. and there is just to much money in the franchise. unless bay kills everyone off I have a good feeling there will be a fourth. and I think if bay dot do it he will at least be involved like producing.

Reboot is the new remake. I really hope that doesn't happen, too soon, and pointless anyway. But, I would want Bay to move on after TF3. I hope it's the last of the series, I really do.

Hopefully Bay makes a small film after TF3, making it a bridge to Bad Boys 3 (if that'll happen at all) or some other action masterpiece.

But really want to see a small film from him. He can combine his great visuals and concentrate more on the story without huge action sequences.

    I have to agree.

And personally, I would love to see him working on "Pain & Gain".

In all of his films, Michael Bay has moments where even the greatest directors have to take off their hats. For example, the hospital scenes in Pearl Harbor, the Walter-cut-up scene in Bad Boys 2, the first half of The Island and countless many more scenes. Pain & Gain is his chance to show how talented he really is and people will be knocked for six. It still won't please everyone- his hater's will still be his haters, just like Kevin Smith gets, but he would still prove to anyone with a cinematic brain that he can do it. I just don't think he has the guts to go through with it.
I've always defended Michael Bay against attacks that his films are full of stupid explosions, girls in underwear and mindless characters... but then he made Transformers 2 and I conceded...
