Besides, HD will upconvert to near HD quality. So I'll stick with the regular DVDs and any HD titles that interest me.

upconverting/upscaling is a long way from BD quality, of course there's exceptions like Jurassic Park that looks quite as good as Species (an old movie), except the screen depth and some black shades ... and on bigger full HD 50"+ it can't be compared at all
