Linkin Park song Iridescent for DOTM

I found an interview for Absolute Radio with Mike Shinoda from Linking Park taken on August 27th 2010. In the interview among other things Shinoda is asked: "What if Michael Bay calls you for TF3?" Shinoda answers: "I don't think we're working together (with Michael Bay) on TF3. We got a good run with the first movies but our interests lie elsewhere at this point."
Too bad, I'm a LP fan and I think they matched perfectly with the first two movies. I hope this is not final and they would be back for DOTM.

Don't think badly of the song. It is an “ending song”. An ending to a war. An ending to a trilogy. End of an era!

I really hope that they keep the song.

loved the songs they did for 1 & 2. but i dont like this.. its too slow.. i don't see it fitting in either.. but then again i didnt see 'dark of the moon' fitting in either, sounded like a twilight movie to me, but as time went on, it grew on me, i love the title now.. it might be the same with this song, who knows..

Wow, someone would say that we agreed with you to post together these two threads.
I don't know if the rumor for Burning Skies is right but one thing is for sure - LP won't make a song especially for the movie. By the way they are on tour now. If there will be a LP song it will be taken from their album.
I like Burning Skies but it's not a theme song. You're right that this song is more like for the end credits. So I guess there will be another group making the theme song. The theme song is very important.

And by the way the rumor is getting stronger, according to TFLAMB:
"As a result instead of Burning as their next single it will now be "Iridescent"".
So now they even postponed the release of Burning Skies and replaced it with another song. Maybe that's something like indirect confirmation.

GOOD they suck. I felt embarrassed when I left the cinema and that Linkin Park song came on at the end of TF 1.

I have their latest cd and the first few times I listened to it, I though WTF!! This sounds nothing like what Id expect from them. But after listening to it now a few hundred times lol, its grown on me... the whole cd that is. So I could see burning in the skies as maybe the ending credits song as the camera pans away from all the destruction left behind.

I felt exactly the same. The last album is not very typical for LP but when you get used to it you found that it's a great piece of work.
It's admirable when a group does something that is not exactly their style.

I respect LP and I dont really feel they have a "style". I think they are one of the very few bands out there that evolve or change with the times. They dont stick to one style. If you listen to any of their cds, there is change in every one of them.

I don't agree. Their previous 3 albums have a similar sound. The las one is a major change compared to previous. And I listened them really many times.
