It'd be wonderful if for Dark of the Moon 3D we could get our own special TF glasses. Nice ones, with Optimus on one side and Soundwave on the other maybe. It'd be nice if we could have a quality keepsake instead of the usual cheap junk. The ones I had for Tron 3D IMAX tonight were yellow, flat and the stems didn't even bend shut (the kind that poke you the whole time!).

My nephew will sure get a kick out of these, but I'll be damned if I'm caught wearing those.

Also, given from the picture, I'm assuming those are for circular polarization (RealD), rather than linear (IMAX3D).

I hav a question..u know how the old cheap horrible 3d glasses were paper and blue and red? The new ones are clear, right? And theyre like real sun glasses, kinda? And wats the difference between real d and 3d? I sound really stupid right now but i havent seen a 3d movie..i want 2 figure this out but i felt too stupid to ask... :/ but it would b cool if one of u explained it here.

They resemble sunglasses, but are slightly larger. Real-D is only a brand of 3-D projection technology, nothing else.

RealD is 3D....that's just the name of brand.

There are 5 3D projection system actually, the main ones are the Dolby (the worst) that uses colored lenses (not as the old red and blue, but you can notice it if you watch at the white screen through them), the RealD that uses polarized lenses and the XpanD (the best, but the glasses cost €120 a pair) that uses active shutter lcd lenses.

In the shop of your theaters/cinema's or in toystores, or other simular toystores (supermarkets, newspaper and magazine stores), just look around a bit.

Now that 3D movies are becoming popular again, 3D glasses are getting a makeover. Companies are coming up with more fashionable designs that people can be proud to wear in theaters.

But now you got another option. On May 16th, Hasbro will release their Transformers Cine-Mask 3D masks that double as a mask and 3D glasses. So for only $9.99 you can stroll into the movie theater to see "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" while wearing glasses in the shape of Optimus Prime or Bumblebee.

Check out some photos of the mask/glasses below and see the third "Transformers" film in theaters on July 1st.

I was not happy. Hopefully, by the time DotM comes out we'll get a happy medium with the equipment. The virtue of the yellow kind is that they wrap around glasses you already have own (if you're me!) but the stems are too long, thin and hard and they poke you in the head after a while. The Avatar 3D shades are flat and formless so they tend to dip more off your nose, but the stems are way more comfortable. The happy medium I'm suggesting is to round the stems more but keep the same material and curve. Additionally, they could make the stems fatter to include an image or indica on them (special for DotM use).

We also got the "REAL D 3D" glasses ... I think they are ok although they darken the view quite a bit.

That's why a silver, high contrast gain, screen is mandatory with a RealD projection system.

In Japan, Warner theaters are selling new glasses and clip-on glasses for four eyed viewers at guests' request.

Those RealD and IMAX 3D glasses are inexpensively available, but XpanD and Dolby3D glasses wouldn't come cheap like that. Still, I'd love to buy DOTM collectible glasses in every format.

I could use those since I wear glasses. lol
Putting glasses on glasses is uncomfortable.

I get the Real D 3D glasses for non-IMAX shows as well. So if they do DOTM glasses, I hope it's those.

WHAT? Your theater doesn't clean them? Isn't that like a major health hazard? My theater, everytime, I'm given new glasses un-opened from the bag. I'm pretty sure what your theater is doing is against the law. You could spread eye diseases doing that.
