Never Let Me Go
You should see this movie if you want to check out a complete 180 take on the same themes from Michael's THE ISLAND.
Without giving too much of the story away, I can say that where THE ISLAND was all about the fulfillment of hope, NEVER LET ME GO is about the denial of it.

Re: Never Let Me Go
Didn't know this novel was made into a film.
Wondering what western (particularly American) audiences would feel about this tale. Embracing imposed states/responsibilities is a common value in Asian cultural sphere (we refer to that way of thinking as "shikataganai"), though.
