THE DARK OF THE MOON
DARKNESS IN THE MOON
IN THE DARK OF THE MOON
DARK IN THE MOON
I like the title...just a wild guess….but just imagine if the dark of the moon means the moon has a dark side and will transform Unicron style !!!! Now that would be an totally awesome in 3D !![]()
I personally don't like it. Doesn't sound like a TF movie to me. I hope this is a rumor! A false rumor.
"My story is of many thousands, and the world will not suffer if it ends too soon."
I'm pretty much on the fence with this one, but at least it doesn't have "Rise", "Return", "Revenge", etc. in the subtitle. It was okay for the second film, but those kinds of words have been used to death.
Dark Side of the Moon does sound too Star Wars and Pink Floyd mix and been a fan of SW since i was a kid and PF since i was a 90's teen.
Technically, when the moon is new, those three evening are Earth's "darkest hours". Sounds like a metaphor for what will be happening in the movie.
Autobots betrayed......Decepticons attacking full force....sounds like Earth's darkest hour to me. If the humans do lose trust in the Autobots, they may be driven off of the planet. Remember in ROTF? The government dude asked Optimus if the humans ever asked them to leave, would they? And Optimus said yes.
It wouldn't be the first time a plot point was used where the good guys were asked to leave only to have to come back and save the day. Not saying that will happen, but it's a thought.
Seems like the use of The Dark of the Moon has specific meaning to the plot. Many people are suggesting it should be different (adding 'side' or taking out the first 'the'), but if you change the phrase, it looses it's tie to either early mythology, or to one of the several books or play that bears the same name.
I'm sure there's a specific meaning and i'm also sure Ehren Kruger or one of the producers will reveal in time the meaning behind it.
According to comingsoon.net:
" the URL www.transformersdarksideofthemoon.com redirects to www.michaelbay.com. The site appears to be registered in the name of Matthew Cohan, who served as an associate producer on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."
So there are possible minor changes to the title.

good ! dark side of the moon sounds much better !
There once was a tale about a man who can turn invisible.....
"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I expect the same from them."
-John Wayne (The Shootist)
Sounds like Pink Floyd if you ask me.
Yeah and the b movie will be called transformers the wall lol
I am going to reserve my final opinion on this one. I agree the title at first is hard to swallow. I do believe the removal of "the" in the title sounds far more sinister. I remember when the title was releases for ROTF and people made a very quick comparison to Star Wars, Revenge of the Sith. The plot seems to focus on the moon especially the dark side of the moon, and that would be a fitting title. I would rather it sound more like Star Wars then the Twilight series.
Transformers Dark side of the Moon, also sounds good to me. Very dark and sinister. I expect the movie to be darker
We must remember that it is still very early for them to be making the title official. This can change at any time. As for the prequel books spotted on Amazon, they have a release date of May, so the titles can still be altered. I am sure if someone knew the possible options of the title that they are exploring, you will find a domain registered against all of them. It would be prudent of them to reserve the domain for all possibilities of the title.
I heard last night on G4TV that it was called Transformers: Darkside of the Moon. Don't know if its true but it sounds less like a typeo like that than Dark of the Moon
"Call me a traitor...I'm just collecting your victims..." Paramore Monster
Huh.
Well, I guess you can't argue with the marketing guys. THE DARK OF THE MOON sounds...interesting, I'll give it that.
The movie is official called the dark of the moon it has been confirmed yesterday, and I also think the title could have called a little better to. Dark Side Of The Moon would be better.
I like it, sounds very good.
I deafinetly feel a dark tone to this movie thanks to that title. Plus, lets remember that MB himself said this movie would be darker than the other two.
Everyone keeps saying it should be called Dark Side of The moon or The Dark Side of The Moon. While yes this may seem to make more sense and sound better to soom... remember Dark of The Moon can and probably has mutiple meanings. If it was just call The Dark Side of The Moon, then everyone would be "Oh something dark has happened on the Moon or the Moon has a dark past and so on. Yes thats part of it but with the title being Dark of The Moon... it leaves you guessing as to what else this could be a metaphor of and why.
