Im looking forward to the comics leading up to the movie. 1... Josh Nizzi is invalved with the artwork and 2... one of my all time favorite writers is writing the story for them (Dan Abnett) A well Known Transformes book and Warhammer 40k book writer. I think these comics will be some of the best both in story and art that we have seen to date.

It has been a while since I updated this thread. I’m sorry about that… was kind of busy.

The coming months are going to be exciting for Transformers Movie Comic Book Fans.

This week, we will be seeing the release of Transformers: Sector 7 issue #4.
"In the midst of the darkest days of World War II, Sector Seven's greatest fear has come true—the Nazis have captured a TRANSFORMER! The group's seven deadliest soldiers—a rag-tag group of screw-ups and cast-offs in any other context—go on what's surely a suicide mission into the heart of Nazi Germany!"
There is also a rumor that the second Transformers 3 prequel series; Transformers: Foundation is to start this 22nd of December, along with S7 #4. The incentive cover for the #1 issue is out as well. It features Movie Optimus Prime in Protoform.

Sector 7 series ends January 2011. Unfortunately though IDW is keeping upcoming Transformers: Foundation and the Direct Prequel to Transformers: Dark of the Moon; Transformers: Rising Storm in secret. The recent IDW newsletters are free of any information regarding those comics. We know ‘em coming… they are just not telling us the synopsis and release dates.

Transformers: Foundation issue #2 cover and synopsis:
"War rages on Cybertron, and Optimus Prime has one goal—kill Megatron at any cost! But how far will the Autobot leader go—and what led these two former friends down the road of hate?"
Sector 7 issue #5 (final issue) cover and synopsis :
"Jetfire makes his final judgment against humanity, as he comes face to face with Sector 7 founder Walter Simmons! Meanwhile, in Sector 7's Arctic Command, still housing the frozen frame of Megatron, someone has turned traitor... or is there a Decepticon in their midst?"
Speaking of release dates, Transformers: Foundation #2 release date was accidentally revealed (12th January, 2011). More info here.

On a related not. Here’s a little treat for the Transformers: Sector 7 fans. The Covers Poster.

Transformers: Sector 7 TPB will be available next year (April 26, 2011).

I think Foundation is going to give us more back story and flesh out more of what happened in Defiance from the ROTF series.

For those who are waiting for sector 7 #4 and Foundation #1... both have been pushed back. S-7 #4 was to be out the 15th of Dec and Foundation #1 the 22nd of Dec.

S-7 #4 was pushed to the 29th of Dec and get this... Foundation #1 does not have a new set release date yet as the series has had to go through many new edits.

(my thoughts)... either they were going to release info in the comics that Hasbro didnt yet want released or Hasbro didnt like the comics all together and have asked them to further edit them to better fit Bay's universe.

With Foundation, I only heard that we might possibly get issue 2 in February. But I do not know when issue 1 comes out.

    Shadow is right.

Very surprisingly Transformers: Foundation series is no longer listed in IDW Upcoming Comic Books. Denton Tipton didn't even mention the series when he updated his blog with upcoming comic books.

However Transformers: Rising Storm (direct prequel to Transformers: Dark of the Moon") will go ahead but I have a feeling that it's bi-monthly because, Issue #1 will release in January while the issue #2 will release in March.

(IDW January 2011 Transformers Previews, IDW February 2011 Transformers Solicitations and IDW March 2011 Transformers Solicitations. Warning Spoilers)

so... the cover for the 2nd issue of Rising storm has come out and look who's on it. I just want to say hi BARRICADE!!!!!!!

    http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-...1293732446.jpg Thanks guys.

MEGATRON's deadliest plan yet kicks into high gear-it's all-out war! Plus-BUMBLEBEE squares off against BARRICADE for what may prove to be the final time, while OPTIMUS PRIME calls in every AUTOBOT on Earth to put an end to STARSCREAM! The stakes rise in this intense prequel to Transformers 3!

Im sure this could be the series where we will see other absent bots like Jolt get killed off.

As for Barricade... it would seem that this may be the series he finally dies as well. Or does he? Maybe he will change his mode in this series and just maybe we might still see him make it into the movie by doing so.

Just read S7#4. Its over all OK but it has become standard to gradually reduce the art quality of any comic book series after a couple of issues. Having said that, i am really enjoying the effort the writer is putting on tieing up inconsistencies in the movies that have already been mentioned before in the respective threads.

On the other hand, i think its kinda far fetched to think humans could have the kind of tech needed to make the transforming tanks the nazis use through out the story, even if reverse engineered from Jetfire. Makes you ask "why didnt the Americans do the same? And if they DID, where were those human-made transformers through out the first 2 movies?"

On a final note, its looking like we could call this series "Tales of Jetfire". He keeps popping up!

thats the thing with Jetfire... this series is not only meant to explain back story on S-7 but to explain what Jetfire was up to all those years on Earth before he scanned the SR-71 and ended up going into stasis.
