Transformers 3 Prequel Comics [Possible Spoilers]

Two comic book series will set the foundation for the storyarc of Transformers 3.


One series is the Transformers: Sector 7 and the other one is Transformers: Foundation.


Transformers: Sector 7 is a five issue saga by John Barber, Joe Suitor and Josh Nizzi.
“At last—the secret history of the Transformers is finally revealed, through the multigenerational saga of the clandestine spy group code-named SECTOR 7. Events in this series tie directly into all of the massive hit Transformers movies, but trust us when we say—there has never been a movie-tie in comic like this before!”


Transformers 3 Movie Prequel: Foundation will kick-start in December.
“The first Transformers 3 movie prequel begins here! The origin of the bitter rivalry between Optimus Prime and Megatron starts here! But what is the secret connection that will forever bind them? And how will it affect the future of all Transformers?”


So basically… One series will focus mainly on the Humans while the other will focus on the Cybertronians.

While I like that they are going to give us more Jetfire and his role in the history of S-7 and him being the first Seeker to find the Allspark, I wish they would have made him look different on that cover. If thats suppose to be WWII time frame, than he should not have had the SR-71 look yet right?

i've asked this over on TFW, but i'll ask it here as well.... should i take the blacked out shockwave to mean the comic Shockwave design is that of the movies?

Yes... remember they did the same thing on the cover of the ROTF comics when Megatron was first shown on the cover and they were tring to hide his new look.

Shockwave sillhouette looks pretty sweet, someone on TFW put the render from the head on a stick we saw a few months back in there and it seemed to fit perfectly. So Shockwave definately has one eye, and is armed to the teeth, can't see any reason for complaints here.

Interesting description in the previews Megatron on the run, I'm guessing this is as good a reason as any to take an Earth form.

Yeah... it is a little better reason but then ask yourself... still... why would Megs take on the form of that truck? It still stands out and its not something he really can drive down the road as and expect not to be seen as strange. There is nothing like that on the road and it just wouldnt help him hide. And not to be a stick in the mud about the Megatron on the run plot... he can fly! Why not just take his ass back to the Nemesis and hide there? Why hide as this truck that isnt really hideing anything and stay on Earth? The only thing I can come up with is that Soundwave now controls Nemesis as well.

I'm gonna go with a theory that the Decepticons are in a bad way since ROTF resources are limited and Megatron can't get himself repaired fully, thus has to take a lesser altmode without any flying abilities.

It's a simple explanation I know, but then Bay, has kept it simple for the most part in this universe.

If a Transformers is alive in the movie verse and is damaged but not dead, they can self regenerate any none life altering damage. Example... Scorponok... he lost his tail in the first movie but over time he grew it back. If Megs would have survived at the end of the first movie and still lost a leg or arm, over time he would have self regenerated. They are bio based computers with self regenerative molecular armor and stuctures. They can heal themselves over time. So Megs will heal fully.

Indeed, Scorponok does kinda blow my theory out of the water. However I wouldn't put it past Bay, and Kruger to retcon the self regenerate thing as not many people will remember it. I didn't and I consider myself a hardcore fan.

However I'm not saying that I definately believe Megatron will reformat himself into a truck, just that the scenario described in the comic previews sounds like a good excuse for him to do so. Though I do admit I do kinda want him to be that truck, for no other reason than it looks awesome!

Read issue 1 and 2. love the art work and the writer seems avid to fill the gaps and plot holes the othetr comic series left behind. im really looking forward to the next issues.
