Default Update: Transformers 3 is in 3D

I think MB has stated prior to filming TF3 that he doesn't like using 3D camera. Well, apparently he ditched the 3D. Although it is interesting to see what the movie will be like when it's in 3D, I fully support Michael bay's decision to opt out using 3D cameras. Personally, I prefer IMAX rather than 3D. I know we had this discussion in this forum before, but what do you guys think of MB's decision? Anyway, here's the link: http://screenrant.com/transformers-3...d-mikee-77797/

    Nelson posted this awhile back...

It's a "Sony Pace 3D" camera. This was taken from the Chicago set of Transformers 3. Also there were reports of interns handling the camera.

Who is this moron posting about what I'm shooting with??? People have no idea how hard we have worked to bring 3D filming into live action shooting. We have invented rigs and systems to place 3d cameras like no other live action movie has done before. The proof will be noticed on the final product.

If you mean that dude from screenrant i agree.. typical ignorant.
And could you Mr Bay tell us when the shooting finally ends cause there are also many unconfirmed speculations that we would like to avoid.

Amen! I was pretty sure (read as: STOKED!) that what I saw you shooting with in Chicago was 3D so this article was puzzling at best. It's always great to see some clown post this type of nonsense who is likely unable to even understand a basic point and shoot camera. Thanks for the clarification and for putting this nonsense to rest.

Also, thanks for shooting in my hometown of Detroit. While I live and work in Chicago now, Detroit is where I was born and grew up and they need the visibility that projects like T3 bring to the city. It has plenty of burned out relics and empty buildings, but hopefully more projects like yours will change that over time.

Cheers and looking forward to July 2011!

I thought TF3 was being shot with the Arri Alexas, are they using both the Alexas and what looks like the F35?
