I believe the main news is the part about Hardcore Eddie's backstory.![]()
$400M!? That must be going to be epic..![]()
$400M? really? Holy shit! I found it hard to believe... It makes it a really risky movie.
With so huge budget the $800M box office point is no more a success, but a requirement.
Honestly this summer of movies was blah so i'm thinking people will be starving for a good film next summer and looking forward to this one....... Hell ill go to the theaters 12 times to support their efforts![]()
"How Come the Decepticons have all the cool shit"
Well, I know he's good for it.![]()
"When you make something no one hates, no one loves it." - Tibor Kalman
heh Bay probably found that in change down the back of his sofa :P
but like everyone else. Holy Shot :O thats a lot of moolah
And wasn't it Mike who thought spending $300 million was crazy?
If this is seriously true, this movie is going to be MASSIVE.
"The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they're genuine." - Abraham Lincoln
that is effing huuge. it's understandable tho, looking at the amount of work required to set Chicago up. and probably a lot of that $400M pays the VFX companies to render the epic CG. I once heard that it costs something like $2000 for a minute of rendering time....not sure if thats true tho.
Guess I'll be the first to say it - I don't believe that the budget is $400 million.
We'll see...
"You know why the departures and the arrivals at LAX are on separate levels? So the 30,000 heartbreakers that come here each month don't notice the 30,000 that are leaving with their hearts broken."
Hold on guys... it said the budget was $400 mil and going north. That means the budget isnt capt at $400 mil yet. It could be more. You have to think of the $300 mil it took to make ROTF. A lot of that was just them making Devestator and the other CGI. Now you have full 3d added in plus a cast of bigger well know actors and im sure this movie will be longer than the first 2... all that adds up fast. Im not saying its true but I would love it if this movie was so big that they had to make it a 2 parter like they are doing with many upcoming movies lol
"You know why the departures and the arrivals at LAX are on separate levels? So the 30,000 heartbreakers that come here each month don't notice the 30,000 that are leaving with their hearts broken."
Lestor Speight, who stars as Hardcore Eddie alongside Tyrese Gibson(USAF Retired Master Sergeant Robert Epps) in Transformers 3, has revealed that the film has surpassed Titanic as the largest budgeted film ever, and also revealed additional information on his character.
Speaking with Movie Mikes, Mr. Speight says that Transformers 3 surpassed the $400 Million mark and is "still going north!"
In comparison, Transformers cost $150M and Revenge of the Fallen was budgeted at $300M.
Each film easily eclipsed their budgets at the box office, so it is not surprising Paramount Picturesgave Director Michael Bay more money to play with this time around.
Mr. Speight also provided additional information on his character Hardcore Eddie, which is an old friend of Epps' father.
"Robert Epps calls me in. I was in a war with his father," he says.
"I always told his dad I would look out for him and watch his back. I am doing all the heavy shooting, rocket launchers and kicking ass. Hardcore Eddie is old school soldier who has seen it all and done it all. I am just kicking ass and blowing up shit. Michael (Bay) just created such a great character."
I'm putting this down to hyperbole from an excited Speight.
I mean if you're including marketing it might come to 400 mil certainly. It just doesn't sound like something Mike would do unless he absolutely has no other choice.
Shadow, here's what Bay said - "We were able to make this for $194 million*, instead of the $230-270 million that the average sequel of this nature seems to cost."

*Sorry for the mistake in my previous comment. Obviously it's not $196 million.
"You know why the departures and the arrivals at LAX are on separate levels? So the 30,000 heartbreakers that come here each month don't notice the 30,000 that are leaving with their hearts broken."
for some reason i dont believe this is true.......BUT if it is then we are in for a treat![]()
$400M??? Are u kidding me? Holy s**t!
Oh, it must be going to be... WOW 0_0
Don't expect everyone to always agree with you
This movie ain't gonna cost no 400 million dollars....... I do not believe it for one second.
I think the term $400 million is for the overall spending. The filming alone probably will cost $250-$300 million and the rest is for promotional, marketing, merchandise etc. Just my two cents
Only?!
..jk holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"My story is of many thousands, and the world will not suffer if it ends too soon."
Lester is a moron. He has no clue about much, other then to try to get internet hype. He's been on the movie a total of 10 days, the guys is just letting his ass talk. Movie is $ just above Revenge. He knows not to talk about this movie!
Thank you for the heads-up. We should never have forgotten that you've been good at controlling budget!Originally Posted by michaelbay

If it's a good movie, the sound could go off and the audience would still have a perfectly clear idea of what was going on.
