if someone ask me that question.
I can answer in 0.1 seciond.
it is nodoubt "christopher nolan"
his movie has this subject "human mind. crime. justice, what is right and what is wrong. good and evil"
I think those subject are good to make the shallow movie into "good" movie.
they are all philosphical. which is very good if you want audiences to think your movie is "deep"
problem is, in his movie. those subject are used just to make "shallow"movie into "looking good movie"
here is an example
when you see dark knight. the story is very lame.
1. why gothammite hates batman?
2. what makes joker think putting dent to his level will make citizen lose hope?
3.why does dent flip-out? why does he put his anger on innocent people.
1.because he made the city more dangerous.-_-
2.I do not remember exact answer. but af far as I remember his answer was very lame.
3.he flips out because joker and gangs killed rachel. so he tries to kill innocent people...???-_- (can that even be an excuse?)
I am sure you know what I mean.
nolan "always" tries to put some deep and sophisticated philosophical subject into his movie.
memento. dark knight. inception... all has lame story.
the ending scene.
that really made me hate nolan much.
was it a dream? or was it real?
I think the answer is quite simple.
nolan himself doesn't know.
he just want us to think of him as a "clever manipulative" director.
I bet if a reporter asks nolan about the ending
he will say
"well. that's up to what you think"
(in fact. he doesn't know. he just want to us to debate and watch his movie again"
and if the reporter pursue the matter.
he will simply gives a vague smile -_-.
I hate nolan.
