I'm sorry, but I'm one of those who liked the humor in the movie. It kept things humming along for me, along with the action and fight scenes.

Autobots : First it was Omega Supreme then Skylinx by the year 2010 G1 3 and 4 cartoon seasons
Decepticons : First it was Astrotrain then it was blast Off e.t.c
.... And Skylinx was clever enough for the function of Lieutenant commander .

I think it's a safe bet now that there is something 'spacey' going on with the plot if shooting is going on at the space centre. Could be Unicron involved somewhere too...

I'm hoping the space shuttle is Sky Lynx. Why? The Autobots need more kick-aft warriors on their side! In ROTF, the 'Cons had Devastator, the 'Bots had... Jetfire with memory failure, bottom fluffs and a wobbly crutch. Please let this space shuttle thang be an Autobot! Please! ::sob::
