Question about Michael's first every movie?

When you directed your first movie and had the power to call the shots for the movie, did you ever have that standing on the top of the empire state building moment? Did you try to make it seem like this wasn't your first rodeo the whole time or did you show your cards and got push back from everyone you were leading because they knew it was your first rodeo? This question came to mind when you commented on 3D and calling the shots and I got a visual of if it was your first movie, that had to be scary at first having all that power.
