    Default Veteran Actors

Various "reporters" have been making a lot of hay over McDormand and Malkovich joining TF3, as though it's astonishing they would join the cast of a blockbuster film or "lower themselves" to be on a project like this. I keep reading this over and over again and I think "are they dim? Have I been transported to an alternate reality where SEAN CONNERY's presence does not elevate a project? Really?"

    You know why?

Simply because it's a Transformers movie. That's the only reason. These people, part of the "blogosphere", seem to think that their world is the entire world and that the entire world hates the Transformers movies. That's why they acted so surprised when it was announced that McDormand and Malkovich will join Transformers 3, because they can't believe that "a movie so bad" can attract these fine actors.

So I think it's fair to say to these guys - "you need to get out more".

    Damn right!

Mutant Chronicles was really really bad and I still saw it because he was in it.

Let's not forget that some of Bay's movies actually helped kick off famous actors' careers.

    Will Smith anyone?

Why are people so surprised about John Malkovich?

The man was in Conair (quite a good movie actually) and Johny English (horrible nonsense).

Besides it isn't the first time he's worked with 'serious' actors (because Shia labeouf is talentless, right, these guys make me laugh, 'a guide to recognizing your saints anyone'?): Steve Buscemi (twice if I'm not mistaken), Sean Connery, Alec Balwdin (I know he's a bit of an ass but he's a damn fine actor), Ewan Mcgregor ...
