Pirates had good sound, but nothing on Transformers. I nearly blew my speakers watching the Transformers DVD.

P.S South Africa does not have Blu Ray/& HD DVD yet...

I doubt Transformers will get more than the obvious nomination for it's CG effects and even that is only because it's so obvious..

Yes I have only seen like 2 Blu Ray discs and one LG Blu Ray player and that is it! The South African market was very slow to adopt DVD's a few years ago and will take longer for HD DVD/Blu Ray (if ever...)

I guarantee that will be the ones Nominated along side of Transformers. Transformers Broke new ground, Pirates had all been done, 300 was stunning and new. Golden Compass isn't a real contender, but the next best choice to Harry Potter.

Spider-Man and Transformers are the big thing. Maybe 300 as a Dark Horse. Watch the CGI specials on the Spidey DVD and tell me it doesn't make you wonder how in the hell they did it. I wish TF had a look that in depth.

Spider-Man 3, seriously? It was so poorly done I was embarresed to even watch the movie. What the hell did they spend that record-breaking budget on?!? As for Venom.. Just look at the end where Edward Brock where showing his real face.. That was just painful to watch.
Or how about when the building is falling down with Gwen Stacy, the building pieces look like they were created by a three-year-old.
I already have no respect for the Oscars but if that movie wins for it's CGI it'll be the last nail in their coffin.

i was very disappointed that the extras weren't that in depth. It's common place now that people expect a lot from DVD features. And we expect a lot from Summer blockbusters.

I'm glad I'm not alone. Venom went indepth about the texture studies, and layers; it was everything. Transformers could have had a bit more about the Ground Breaking CGI to prove it was ground breaking. Transformers or Spidey. 300 had the Environment, but Transformers and Spidey had actor interaction more than the comic book feel of 300. Although out of the 3 300 did make the artificial background feel 100% realistic compared to the actors. Spidey didn't do it as seamless, Transformers did. TF or Spidey.

I just wish I knew for sure. I was more impressed when I watched the extra features on Spider-Man than watching the film. There is food for thought.

Go to web enabled Features.
make a account log in and download 7 Sector 7 transmission.you can all so get Bios of cast and crew while watching the film. see the TF health bars low get stat's of all TF's in film

Yeah...umm...my fiance's parents have DSL, so do I need to hook it up to the DSL modem or just a phone line like what the directv box is hooked up to?
